## Description

Product Description Automatic jar top valves are the easiest-to-service valves for today’s irrigation systems. The jar top valve features a 24 VAC solenoid, manual actuation lever, and bleed screw. The jar top lid removes with a counterclockwise twist, allowing access to the diaphragm and support ring. The threads are 3/4-inch or 1-inch pipe thread and are compatible with Schedule 40 and 80 PVC fittings as well as heavy-duty manifold adapters. The jar top solenoid features nickel-plated copper wire and is compatible with all major brands of 24 VAC irrigation controllers. We recommend B-hyve controllers for optimum water conservation and PVC-Lock fittings for fast, glue-free installation. For outdoor irrigation use with cold water only. From the Manufacturer Orbit's automatic irrigation valve does not require tools to service it. It has an easy-to-access screw-top lid. Its simple and dependable design includes manual operation and a standard 24 volt solenoid for connection to an irrigation timer.

Review: Exact Replacement for Orbit Jar Top Valve - My existing valve started to leak at the sprinklers for an unknown reason, and I wanted to see if I could getaway by replacing the internal parts. Also, I needed the manual turn on/off capability on the valve. This is an exact replacement for the existing one. I kept the old valve casing, replaced all the internal parts including the solenoid. Because I only had to change the internal parts, installation was even easier. It took me a out 15 minutes to complete the whole repair. It now works perfectly without any leaks. Also, from cost perspective, it is only a few dollars more than replacing the solenoid. I am very happy with this purchase.

**Q: Is it possible to use it with relay swith pump?**
A: I use mine with a 1/2 horse shallow well pump and it closes to cause the switch on the pump to close.  This is the second one I've bought.  The relay on the first started vibrating on and off.  I don't know if the pressure variations caused it to do this but replacing the solenoid is half the cost of a new one so I'm giving this model a second chance and hanging on to the receipt as it has a lengthy guarantee.

**Q: what is the total length of the valve from tip to tip?**
A: I actually measured this with calipers.  It is 5.25" (5-1/4" or 133.35mm).

**Q: Want does the on off switch do?**
A: On is manual operation; off is solenoid operation.

**Q: Valve failed, replaced, still bad, tested components, no continuity on male coaxial plug. Where do I order a new plug for my valve?**
A: Hi, this is Janice from Orbit! I imagine the plug is the solenoid because that's the only part that has electronics. You can order a new part on Amazon or our website just by typing in model 57467. The solenoid itself is model 57041.

My existing valve started to leak at the sprinklers for an unknown reason, and I wanted to see if I could getaway by replacing the internal parts. Also, I needed the manual turn on/off capability on the valve. This is an exact replacement for the existing one. I kept the old valve casing, replaced all the internal parts including the solenoid. Because I only had to change the internal parts, installation was even easier. It took me a out 15 minutes to complete the whole repair. It now works perfectly without any leaks. Also, from cost perspective, it is only a few dollars more than replacing the solenoid. I am very happy with this purchase.
