Because they are programmable, the poultry quickly get used to the times their feed will be dispensed and my free range chickens and peacocks all make their way to the feeder at designated times, keeping them relatively contained. The timer is reliable, and a measured amount of feed is dispensed accordingly, with the ability to adjust the spread and length of time feed will be scattered, and hence the amount of grain distributed at various times throughout the day.
