Powerful, Reliable, and a Big Upgrade From Cordless Models
I absolutely love the BLACK+DECKER 3-in-1 Electric Leaf Blower. Before buying this one, I had already used two different leaf blowers — including a cordless model from another brand — and they just couldn’t handle my yard, especially with the amount of leaves that fall from my big trees. The cordless simply wasn’t strong enough.I eventually borrowed an older BLACK+DECKER blower & mulcher (BV2800) from a friend, and it worked much better than the cordless I had. After returning it, I decided to stick with the BLACK+DECKER brand and upgrade to a newest corded 3-in-1 version. And honestly, I am not disappointed. This tool is powerful, both in blowing and mulching, and it has made yard cleanup so much easier. A bonus is the big mulching bag! However, the only regret I have at this point is that it doesn’t mulch the leaves as finely as the older BLACK+DECKER model I borrowed. The mulching still works, but the older one did a slightly better job breaking the leaves down into smaller pieces. One more thing to note: it doesn’t work very well with wet leaves. If it has recently rained, it’s best to wait until the leaves dry before using the mulcher. It performs much better that way.Overall, this is a reliable, strong, and versatile tool that really gets the job done. Highly recommended!

What a powerhouse! Great product
This thing works great. The metal fan blade is key. I had one with a plastic blade and it wore out quickly. I use it for vacuuming leaves that the landscaper misses. It is extremely powerful and the vacuum pipe is long so I don't have to bend over while using it (I'm 6' 2"). It chops the leaves well and saves me having to fill a bunch of leaf bags. It is very sturdy and well made. Great value for the money.

Better than raking!
The vacuum piece of this equipment works well. As noted in many reviews, the bag is the worst feature as it does not last long. The motor is very powerful and we were able to do a quarter acre with 4 massive oak trees without it jamming (some of the leaves were wet underneath). We had been struggling with leaves this year as the trees shed more than usual with the hot/cold/hot/cold weather. The bag ended up ripping in the spot next to the top where the leaves blow into the bag. After 2 days of use, it was worn through and ripped. The blower does the job really well, you will just need to buy an additional 2-3 cloths bags to get through your leaf season. Overall, the price of the blower is under $100, so with a few extra bags at $20 a piece, it's a good solution and much better than raking. It does a good job of mulching the leaves and saved us on leaf bags. We were able to get probably 2 times the amount of leaves in a bag vs. straight raking. This is a good solution for us, just wish the cloth bag was a better product. B&D seems limited in what type of bag they can connect as it has to breathe, so they can't have too durable a material for the bag. We did not use the plastic throw away bags and we did not use the blower feature. It got 4 stars instead of 5 because of the bag wearing quickly. Again, we knew this going is because of other reviews so we weren't too surprised when it happened. Buy some extra cloth bags and you'll be happy.

Our Yard Looks Better Than Ever!
This is a great tool. We recently moved into a house where the yard has a bunch of trees. There is no way we could keep up with all the leaves, so we invested in this helpful device. My favorite features:* The various speeds make it easy to quickly suck up leaves off my lawn or get a more gentle suction if I'm trying to get weeds out of rock beds or areas where I don't want it to suck up the ground layer.* It is tough enough to grind up small twigs (not sticks)* I love that the bag can be removed and fits inside a regular trash bag so that I can easily dump the leaf particles into the trash without spilling* The leaves are really chewed up small, so I can suck up a LOT of leaves before I need to empty the bag.* There is a strap on the bag that I wear over my shoulder while vacuuming up leaves to help hold up the weight of the contents of the bag. It is comfortable, and even as a somewhat small woman, the weight of the bag when full is not too much. This device has helped make our yard clean-up much easier and more efficient. I was skeptical when my husband purchased it, but now I am a believer. I am getting rid of leaves that have been stuck in bushes and corners of the yard for way too long!

Does what you expect, I don't like having to stick my hand in there so much, though.
Having a yard with a bunch of shrubs, I quickly got sick of trying to rake up tiny leaves - i needed a vac unit! Since this is a wired unit, the power is decent, but there are a couple cons that prevent this from getting a great review:- The blade portion of the unit cannot be disassembled, and the plastic tube can quickly get clogged with anything viney (ivy) or damp (rotted leaf buildup). When clearing an area for the first time, I had to stop several times to try to clear out the matted up areas, which are too small for me to get my fingers into (after unplugging it -I'm not crazy!). The rotted leaves I could get, they were wet and became like mud inside there - however, it tangled up on some small branches (1/8 in diameter) from the shrubs I had trimmed. They were too long, I guess, and got tangled up inside the unit.- There are three or four pieces you have to carry around to convert from a blower to a vac. There's nowhere to store these things, so you end up with a pile of plastic parts. Black & Decker should try to think of a spring-loaded cover that isn't removable, or some way to mount the pieces to the unit like a vacuum cleaner normally does.- It does look a little too sci-fi-ey with the giant vacuum tube being shiny black and lines carved into it. I felt like I could paint it white and go trick-or-treating as the Flamethrower Stormtrooper from Star Wars: The Force Awakens in this thing.Pros:- it totally sucks. in a good way, usually (outside of the con above).- the blower has a swivel attachment that really does help get matted up stuff off the ground.- vacuum bag holds pretty well, easy to dump out the grinded up foliage. Reduces the room it takes up in the trash can quite a bit, so I can get more out of it.

Very well designed.
Just got this today in time to process my leaves before it snows. Set it up first as a blower and clreared off all the old leaves off the patio roof. Worked very well to blow them off, one side to the other with lots of strength and not that noisey. Then switched it to the vacuum mode and was surprised at how easy it was (used a wood chop stick to open the port rather than a tool like suggested). The vacuum worked excellent. Processed all the leaves from the roof into the black shoulder bag and that worked very well and it mulched them beautifully. I bought the 6600 mulching model because they were out of the non mulcher because I did not think I needed it and I thought it would not work that well, but I love it. It mulches really well, the shoulder bag works really well and made quick work of all the leaves with no clogs. I was VERY impressed. I bought some other after market add-ons so that I could bag the leaves straight from 3-in-1, but the mulch looks so good I may just send them back. I love this machine, it ended up exceeding my already high expectations.

Stopped Working After First Use in Spring
I bought this item this past April (2025) to mulch the leaves on my lawn left over from the previous fall. I was hoping it would prove a sturdy, trustworthy B&D tool to last me many fall leaf-dropping seasons. This blower has a very useful feature -- a sort of rake attachment to lift compacted leaves when you are mulching. This makes the leaves easier to vacuum up into the mulching tube. Unfortunately, this attachment was made of flimsy plastic, and the flexible "hinge" that connected it to the blower broke on its first outing. The blower itself -- which is corded, not battery-operated -- worked well, though, and after finishing the mulching job, I stored it away in my garage for the fall. When I took it out this fall, as the trees defoliated, I could not get it to work. Somehow it had died after one use. I have contacted B&D about this problem and await their suggestions. I own many B&D tools -- ones that I have used for decades without major problems. I'm hoping the issue is fixable. I would have no problem taking this thing apart and doing my own troubleshooting, but I have hesitated to do so because that is not what one would expect to have to do after just one use. Most purchasers, I suppose, would prefer not having to do that to keep a new tool functioning..

Can't Decide? This is the one to buy.
Can’t decide Toro or Black and Decker. Easy BLACK AND DECKER with the bag bar instead of zipper.I am becoming an expert on Vacuum/Blowers. #1 Black&Decker(BD) lasted maybe 10 years. It was small, light and not very powerful. The on/of switch wore out on it. I repaired it myself several times and is was a Rube Goldberg of turning the machine on and off. A simple task designed in a complex manner. BD #2 LH5000, ooh what an improvement in the power department. I have pink clover ground cover and need to suck the tree leaves out of it. This would pickup stuff like hibiscus buds that fell off, that the old one would not. Just terrific, but it only lasted 3 years. I had sewn up the bag several times where it connects to the machine, put duct tape around it for added support. But in the end it was the on/off was the issue. There is a tiny slot that either the vacuum or blower pieces need to push it to allow it to go on. A safety switch Not too much in and not too little in though. Became a fidgety machine with a leaking bag, so I replaced it with a Toro.Huge mistake, not only is the same rated wind power Toro not able to pick up what the Black and Decker could do, but the bags last weeks, not YEARS. I am talking bag one lasted maybe 10 uses, but was tearing after 2 uses. The zipper gave way and became useless. The next bag lasted 3 uses and the zipper broke. Toro is absolute JUNK. Thin bags with zippers from light spring jackets. So the Toro lasted 8 months and is now permanently the blower and the new BD is the vacuum, so I don’t have to change the tooling. So get the BD and get the one with the bar on the bag instead of the zipper, because it will not break. Also, if you are dragging the bag on the ground it is the hard plastic instead of the cloth and zipper that take the abuse. You have to get the bag bar. The downside is after a few hours in the miserable heat the last thing you do is empty the bag, and it takes some strength sometimes to get the bar to slide off. Its okay to say FORGET IT. Go take your shower and empty the bag tomorrow. Mostly it is fine though. Its powerful and well designed.

Lotta Bang For The Buck
This leaf blower is awesome. It has the power to do everything I needed it to do. From sidewalks to walkways and driveways. I used the vacuum part to clean leaves on a couple of carpeted porches. I even used it to clean some eves troughs. It did an amazing job on all of them. It's a keeper. I haven't tried the mulcher yet but as soon as it dries up a bit. I have some gardens that need to be cleaned.Update Dec 19, 2025I had the chance to use this unit as a mulcher/collector for leaves and debris . It did an awesome job. Never clogged. mulched everything I wanted it to, did an awesome job. I even found another unconventional use for it. We had a couple light fluffy snow falls so far. I used it to blow the snow off the sidewalks, walkways and the car. Did a really good job.Would I recommend it....absolutely yes.

Hace muchísimo ruido.
Funciona muy bien, pero es demasiado ruidosa. No he tenido otras para comprar, pero en la reseña decían que no hacía mucho ruido.

Great powerfu Mulcher and the blower is strong and handy with many attachments.
I have a large yard and a lot of leaves and this product worked great. The blower has a nozzle that waggles back and forth, and is really good at getting leaves to move, even wet ones. I blew them into rows, then was able to suck them all up. The bag holds a lot of leaves, you have to empty it before its full as it gets too heavy so its the right size. If the back fills, you can just push down on the top of the bag and compress the contents and just keep going. The suction is great and will take up small sticks, but eventually the blower channel will get clogged and you have to use a screwdriver to clean it out, but its better than I would expect. The mulching ability of this unit was great, even with fairly wet leaves and some snow. One operational problem, is the cord does not connect well, even with a knotted connection, it still disconnects occasionally, I may try a different extension cord. Another problem I had was with the bag was not sewn correctly, there was a double layer of material around the intake connection, this was not sewn down and it just shredded itself inside the bag. I called support and a new bag is on its way. I did not find anyone else with this problem so likely an isolated sewing mistake.Overall I am very happy with the unit and it does a great job mulching which is what I bought it for.

Works like it should
Bought this as I have more than a few acres, largely trees. I only need to clean up several hundred sq ft as the rest are conifers. I use the mulch back into my raised beds. And it does all I need. Suction is good enough to pull up wet or dry.Points to remember before you buy or use. It's a bit unwieldy so it takes a bit of manipulating.Dry leaves are far better than wet as they mulch smaller and are less likely to trap pebbles. If you stir up wet leaves with your foot while using it works well to shake out any small stones. On a lower setting the unit does not pull rocks. I use it on my gravel driveway and don't have a problem. If the leaves are wet the stones tend to stick in the mix. Since damage from stones was my biggest concern in buying this, I tend to focus on it here. As a test, I can vacuum up dry leaves on the deck but it wouldn't pull up a 1/2" cherry tomatoe. Just leaves.Perfect.If you are trying to vacuum up tomatoes, not great I guess.
