Soul Calibur VI (PS4)

This brings the series back to its roots in many a regard, I feel it prudent to note that I've not had a large quantity of time to invest yet, I'll update the review at some point with views that reflect that. The game graphics are significantly improved over its predecessor, as have many elements, such as the combat mechanics, which have received a level or refinement with additional elements such as a counter clash system and what one can only define as "9000" mode, if you've ever played BlazBlue, it's extremely similar to the overdrive system; the former being a rock, paper, scissors formula which enables a level of both cinematic and tactical opportunities. The games has several modes. The main campaign - This covering the events of the story and giving you a overview of the timeline to boot, lacking cutscenes at times, filled with a plethora of text. however it is extremely nostalgic and a significant improvement over SCV. Adventure mode - This is the main attraction, allowing you to create your own custom character from a robust selection of races, attributes and vocals, this mode is where you'll be spending most of your time if single player is your forte, going through a tutorial then exploring and choosing weapon load outs, character buffs and mild management games. Arcade mode - As one would expect its your traditional arcade mode, with a ladder that one progresses, an improvement over SCV. Vs Mode - Simple as one would expect, you select a character and a character to verse. Training mode - Most of the training is actually embedded in the Adventure mode which can be quite confusing, this mode include what you would expect, however you can't add commands to a notepad at the top of your screen, which is a real shame as it's the main staple among many a modern fighting game. Critiques - In my short time playing this game, I've experienced a few minor issues that I will list below and add to or remove as invest more time in SCVI. Training mode - Lacking a notepad for saving commands, it's also poorly structured and confusing, not to forget repetitive to keep opening the menu to see commands and guides. The main Campaign - Can be considered laborious to get into, requiring significant investment if you're not extremely hyped for the game. Music - The music is a lackluster in terms of quality and quantity. Stages - There are simply too few. Characters - They're on the borderline of too few, however this isn't as much of an issue due to the work invested in the characters designs. Dlc - There is a integral character being locked behind dlc at launch "Tira" this is a complete insult to the intelligence of gamers alike. Pros - As with critiques I'll add as I gain more game knowledge and experience. A general improvement over SCV, in near to all respects. New welcome mechanics. Nostalgia overload mode "Adventure". To summarize, the games a fighting game anyone can play relatively well; great for casuals, being able to be mastered by who sees fit. The graphics are decent, the load times a little much, generally being a solid purchase, I'd recommend if for someone who wants a new fighting game to master.

A reboot of a classic but sadly not enough changes to keep it fresh. Also it's worth mentioning that pretty much all the clothing in edit mode don't look right at all.. It's not a terrible game but it feels rushed in parts it's very good it just hasn't changed that much from the last one. Wait for it to drop in price then It'll be worth buying but not at it's current price.

The game is ace and came in 2 days of ordering. I would go as far as to say I prefer it to Tekken 7. The character creation mode is great fun and it is more fantastical that Tekken.

I keep changing my mind about how much I like to love this game. I was a bit dubious of it the graphics are amazing. The best of any of the games so far but thus being the latest game that is to be expected. The moves are a little different to pull off. I think they have been made a little bit too easy to pull off. It takes some of the skill out of the games, but I did have to learn more if the dodging skill so this made up for this. I was a little disappointed that there was not a character specific ending on the arcade battle mode of the game. However there is in another mode. The continuity freak in me does love the part that if there is a main story and ending to the game (even though my faverite is not the main character in this), and the other specific characters endings run along side this main story. Some of the ending and stories I did recognise from other games in the franchise. The biggest strength of this game is that you can create and use many customised characters and use the through out the different game modes. It is also possible to choose the destiny of yohr character as a hero or villain depending on your choices. The thing that made my choice to definitely made this a 5 star game was I cannot stop play I could not stop playing it whenever I get a chance.

Brilliant game this is. I played the original Soul Blade and was hooked. This is just as great and the story and a characters really get you into the game. Top banana smashing title.

Aside from some pointless mechanics added, Soul Calibur hasn't really gotten any better since SC3 and even that was a step down from SC2. Only diehard fans would want this game. There is no real progression in story, gameplay, mechanics (bar added pointless Supers and V-trigger-esque, one-button rubbish) or even characters that cannot be found on a 20 yeat old predecessor. It is blatantly obvious that Namco have only used SC to test different things in prep for the next Tekken and have had no care for the series otherwise, hence Project Souls cancellation now. Pity, there was so much promise.

Game itself is a bit meh, nothing to do with the seller! Just a bit boring and repetitive. Had high expectations after playing Soul Cal 2 back in the day.

Excelentes gráficos y jugabilidad! Cómo digo en el título, corrigieron los errores cometidos en la versión anterior del juego y retomaron el buen camino, ese que les dio tantos fans!

Il est arrivé en parfaite condition et pour ma part, le jeu est super - pour cela par contre, ça dépendra de vos goûts personnels !
