PLACEHOLDER PRODUCT DESCRIPTION. Review: Great Everyday Boots: Warm, Comfortable, and Practical - Warmth I wore them in 31°F weather with merino socks and also in warmer weather with only ankle socks, and felt comfortable in both situations. They provide enough insulation for cold mornings while still feeling lightweight, which makes them easy to wear indoors as well. They do not feel bulky or heavy. Fit I ordered multiple sizes, including the wide version, to compare. I do not have wide feet and ended up keeping my true size in the regular width. In the photos and videos I am wearing pantyhose and merino wool socks, and the boots do not feel tight. I tend to have wider toes and usually need room in the toe box, and these worked well for me once the leather softened. I also do not have a high arch and generally prefer flatter soles, which made this style comfortable for my foot shape. Comfort The leather feels firm at first and does require a short break-in period. After wearing them several times during the first two weeks, the leather relaxed and became much more comfortable. I left tightly crumpled plastic bags inside the boots in a warm closet to help the leather adjust, which helped the break-in process. I would not choose these for all-day sightseeing, but for normal daily wear they are very comfortable. I wear them to church where I am on my feet helping with kids and can easily reach around 5,000 steps in a morning without discomfort. I also like the stretch fabric on one side of the boots. One side has the zipper and the other has elastic stretch, which feels soft around the ankle and makes them easier to wear. After a few hours, the leather can slightly irritate my skin when worn with only ankle socks, but it is still worth it because the boots look great, especially with jeans. Heel Height The heel height feels stable and practical. It gives enough lift to avoid feeling completely flat while still maintaining a grounded and secure feel. If you prefer flatter soles, this heel height strikes a good balance between support and stability. Durability The construction feels solid and well made. The leather softened without losing structure, and the waterproof feature adds confidence for everyday wear in colder or wet conditions. So far they appear durable and suitable for regular use. Color It is amazing how often I notice people turning their heads to look at these boots. The color is a beautiful brown: not too dark, not too light, and it looks natural rather than artificial. I receive compliments every time I wear them. Overall These are a good option if you want a waterproof boot that looks polished and works well for everyday activities rather than long-distance walking. Review: Order 1/2 size up - Ordered an 8 but with thick socks, they were just too tight. Had to return. If I had more time, I would have definitely gotten the 8 1/2 because they were beautiful and comfortable.

A Great Boot - But They Need Proper Socks!
I've worn these for a few weeks now, alternating them among my other workwear, and I am impressed. Yes, the leather is water-resistant (don't know if I'll need to grease or treat them again for next winter, but that's okay if I do). They are comfortable. I work in a shop environment on a concrete floor, and these will carry me quite well on days where I don't have stand the full eight+ hours. On those rare days, I need super-cushioned, bouncy running shoes. But for normal days, where I alternate between standing and sitting, they're great. I am flat-footed (born that way) and my feet are not terribly durable, so for these boots to work for me says a lot! Yes, they are boots and, as other reviewers mentioned, they will rub your legs (as all boots do), if you aren't wearing the proper socks! It's VERY important that you get some crew socks or taller for these. Don't put on your little no-shows or your cuff socks and expect the situation to be comfortable. You need some sock between your skin and the boot, and then you'll be fine. Doing that, I have had zero issues with them rubbing excessively on my legs. My only slight difficulty, and I think this is just me, is putting them on. For some reason, they kinda twist to the side and require a little extra effort, but once my foot's in there, we're golden. I mean, it's not that bad. It's simply that I can't just slip my foot in there.

Disappointed with Fit and Comfort
I was excited to try the Clarks Women's Hencroft Step Chelsea Boot in Burgundy, especially since Clarks is known for comfort and I have had purchased mult pairs in the past. Unfortunately, these boots didn’t work out for me. The leather is very stiff which made them uncomfortable to walk in from the start. Even though I usually wear an 8.5, these boots seemed a bit too big. The biggest issue, however, was the top front of the boot shaft rubbing against my shin. It caused immediate discomfort, and after just a few steps, it became painful. I really wanted to love these, but the fit and feel just didn’t meet my expectations. If you’re looking for something more comfortable right out of the box, these are not that boot.

Too narrow but really nice.
These didn’t work for me because the toe box was too narrow (I have wide feet) but they were very well made and attractive looking. They are on the heavy side. I wish they fit because I really liked them.

Needed boots for a trip to Norway in February
These boots fit well , have a good tread and cushion . I like the side zipper and the tab on the heel to help pull them on . I have a high arch and often have trouble getting Chelsea boots on . We leave for our trip this week - I’ll let you know more in 3 weeks .

Comfort and Class
I have to brag on these Clarks Chelsea boots for a second. They fit like they were custom-made for my feet and are ridiculously comfortable. The break-in period was basically nonexistent… like two days and they were already perfect. If you want boots you can walk in all day without plotting your escape, these are it.

Love my new red boots
5 stars. Totally love. Only downside is the leather on ankle is stiff and taking a bit to break in. Once I break them in they will be my favorite boots. I love the red. The fit is perfect. The leather looks great, and is properly hardy. Which is what I wanted.

USED
It is a lovely boot and fits well. I would have given it five stars except for the fact that it arrived in a crushed and torn box held together with an elastic band and Amazon sent me a USED boot without disclosing. I contacted customer service and since I didn’t have time to return the item, they only offered me $20 compensation. It will cost me more than that in leather supplies to fix the scuffs on the leather. There’s nothing I can do about the worn heel or the bulge from someone’s apparent bunion. I guess multi billion dollar companies can’t afford to compensate customers. If these were available locally, I would have returned them and bought a new pair.
