They run about the same price as the top competitor's novice running shoes but you will notice the difference right away. I am not a technical runner so i can't speak to that as I am just getting started running. So far this is the best shoe I have found to solve the need for proper arch support. Funny things is I had never herd of brooks until recently. I just happened to try some on in a store one day. If you have high arches you will want to take a look at brooks. I ended up buying the Ghosts and the Bedlams. Initially I thought that the Ghosts were more comfortable and would be better for an every day walker however after using both of these Brooks for the last month I have discovered that the Bedlambs are more suited for my feet. We walk at least 3 miles every day and these shoes have offered the perfect amount of support and comfort. The Ghost is a great shoe as well but I think it is lacking in the support that I needed.
