Built the rough opening frames with 2 X 4s, fastened them in place behind the stucco, then used the multi-tool with diamond blades, set the blade flat on the frame and cut perfect openings in the stucco, with no chipping or tear out. Then, I picked up my Dremel multi-tool...and threw it in the trash. Apart from how well the Makita cuts, it doesn't get hot and it doesn't make your hand vibrate for an hour after using it. There's some vibration that follows, but the difference is night and day from what I had to endure with the Dremel. And, the Makita actually cuts material other than drywall, The Makita is more expensive than some of the others, but it's worth every penny, if only for the reason that it cuts wood like butter. It's a quality tool and exceeded my expectations by a mile. My only complaint is that it's made in China. I'll never understand why companies with outstanding engineering and reputation believe it's a good business decision to go to China to manufacture their goods. I would have paid more if it was made in Japan instead of a country that oppresses its people so horribly; irrespective of the fact that it's also notorious for its indifference to accuracy, precision, quality materials and quality control.
