We used fence charges on our family farm for many years. The larger the capacity of battery (the more Ah), the longer the battery will last before needing recharged; however, the 'jolt' will remain the same until be battery is depleted to less than 50%. I have found Mighty Max batteries to be a good value and a good product. I use them in mobility scooters and their reputation for being long-lasting and rechargeable is excellent. It is important to remember that a battery should NEVER be fully discharged as most chargers are not capable of bringing the battery out of that state. **Q: Can this be used in High Tech pet dog door?** A: Yes. The dimensions are very similar and importantly its a 12 volt 1.3 AH battery. The fit is perfect, and was quite easy to install.The attached photos show the little robot 4 after removing the 4 screws (marked in yellow) that cover the motor mechanism. They have instructions on their site, but its dead simple. After unscrewing the cover you can see the wires for the battery. Attach red/positive to positive and black/negative to negative and ensure the terminals are at the rear of the robot, tuck the wire behind the wire holder and screw it back in.This is GREAT value for money for this specific use case, and generally speaking is a good value for a small 12v battery. Given this application, I don't know about battery life or charge rate, this is not something I can measure.
