OtterBox iPhone 16 Defender Series Case - Black

Well, well an iPhone holder that is rugged, tough, drop tested from 6 feet! Oh yes I am quite serious - 6 feet. I did this on purpose just to show the Wife with her NEW iPhone. She was NOT impressed but the iPhone did survive! You absolutely cannot beat this product. They are a bit expensive, but well worth every penny.

I bought this for my 13 year old, rambunctious son, he has broken more phones and tablet than I care to count. But, not on has been damaged since using the OtterBox line of phone cases. I highly recommend. Also, they're not as big and boxy as they used to be. Definitely more practical than before.

Very nice for a guy or girl who loves camo. Our family LOVES Otterbox Defender. Used this brand since 2012. NEVER EVER had a broken I phone using this case. (Three Apple phones) And I have dropped my phone on concrete and driveways accidentally.

Item is perfect! More expensive than it needs to be but I guess it protects an expensive phone.

I got almost 2 years out of it before the hard plastic bits had broken away too much. I trimmed off the protruding ring/silent button so that it only gets pushed when I =really= mean it, and not just randomly in my pocket. My phone is still in great shape.

I’ve had two of these for my 16 Plus now and I have loved them both. I have two complaints though. The plastic trim near the camera button has broken after a few months of use on both of these. It’s sort of frustrating because it’s not overly noticeable unless you grab it just right or it gets pushed out from being caught on something. I’ve considered trying to glue it, but it’s so thin that it would surely just break again. I genuinely don’t know what they could have done to fix this though, other than maybe a silicon cover over the camera button to allow a thicker coverage surrounding it. I’m not sure if this has been addressed for the 17 or 18 model cases or not. The other thing is the flap to cover the charge port. That seems to wear out over time and eventually will get some mini tearing on one side, which then leads to a progressive tearing. Mine is now at about 1/3 of the way torn and I’m getting borderline OCD about not messing it up further every single time I touch it now (I want so much to rip it clean off, but it still works great when it’s pushed in place while off the charger). Those two things are it though, this has been a tank for me otherwise. My last case for my 15 Plus was also an Otterbox, but it had a slick plastic shell to it, which I had to heavily modify with grip tape for a gaming mouse and then super glue those grip strips into place.. Anyways, this case was an absolute beauty when I found out it has a rubbery grip to it, no more falling out of my pockets or accidentally slipping from my fingers (atleast not nearly as often!). It has worked perfectly fine with MagSafe chargers. It has also stayed together fairly well beyond the noted quality concerns. I’m praying this is the standard case for whenever I upgrade next. My last three iPhones have had that slick style defender case and this one has been by far the best all around.

These are the only cases I use and have never been disappointed. Not the most streamlined look but when you drop your phone frequently like I do, it's really necessary combined with a glass screen protector. If you keep your phone in your pocket expect the outer cover to get worn and sort of 'baggy' after about a year. Just wish there were more 'fun' colors available.

I have been buying Otterbox cases for several years because Smart Phones are expensive and I would rather pay more for a good phone case that will protect my phone from breaking or the screen from shattering, than have to buy a new phone. I always buy the bulky "rugged" case because I drop my phone a lot and my friends that have the slim, sleek cases always end up with shattered phone screens when they drop their phones. With my previous Otterbox phone cases, I have wiped out on my skates at the beach and sent my phone flying across the path and landing hard on the bike path and my phone still worked perfect and the screen was not shattered. I even accidentally ran over my phone with my SUV when pulling out of my garage because I did not realize I had dropped it until I lost audio in my earbuds as I drove away. When I drove back my phone was sitting outside of my garage with tire tracks on the phone case - I was so impressed that my phone still worked AND the phone screen was not cracked. I included photos of that case - you can see the front of my phone has dirt and rocks because it was face down when I ran over it. I bought this phone case less than one year ago and although I have dropped it several times and it protected my phone - I did not drop it while skating or biking on the beach and I did not run over it like I did with my last case, but this case broke anyway and I am disappointed so I am only giving it 3 stars. I don't know how it broke or when it broke, I just realized the bottom of the rubber case no longer fit snug against the phone and that is when I noticed the plastic part on the bottom was cracked and was shifting and moving around and within a few days it completely broke off so I am now in the market for a new iPhone case. The only reason I have ever had to replace my prior Otterbox phone cases in the past is when I upgraded my phone and the case did not fit the new model. This is the first time I have had to replace an Otterbox case because it broke. Bottom line - this phone case is not as rugged as previous models.

I love this case on this case loves me because if you’re like me at all, you want a unique fun amazing iPhone case because you don’t want to see my phone case everybody else has and I’m I love yellow yellow is a big thing to me, but I also wanna make sure my beautiful iPhone 16 Pro Max desert is protected and so I know it’s an Otter box which means it’s really good quality. I love.

I have used a Defender Otterbox for my iPhone 10 for the last 5 years. The phone is in mint condition even though it has been occasionally dropped and scratched. Therefore I obviously purchased the same Defender model case for my iPhone 16 Pro. The Defender series is the most robust protective case in their model line up. I added a glass screen and photo lens cover from another company to fully protect my phone. I did have to modify the Otterbox opening for the camera lenses to fit the glass lens protector. Easy to do with a little jewellers file. The Otterbox fits like a glove on the phone, the buttons work through the case easily. Highly recommended!
