Seems to be built decently rugged, so I don't worry about dropping it or anything. Has a high transfer rate so large transfers complete rapidly. One issue I have not run into with this one that I get on my smaller units is heat. My smaller units heat up during transfers to a level where touching it is difficult. I have not noticed any heat issues when using this unit and I'm regularly transferring 1000s of photos from my phone to my work computer. It has both USB A & USB C connectivity built in which is great since fewer laptops are coming with USB-A ports, plus I can directly connect it to my phone or tablet (See further info). One thing you may see someone complain about is that it doesn't connect to their phone correctly. This isn't true IF THE PHONE IS NOT IN A CASE. I've seen this issue with charging cables too, along with other storage devices, where THE CASE interferes with the USB unit connecting properly. Sometimes it's the thickness of the case, or the size of the access hole in the case for the charging port. The best solution for such issues is a dongle if you are doing a lot of connections through a case.
