They are difficult to open, that is true, but then we only buy them nowadays: they are spicy and tasty.

A good crunchy gherkin. Not sweet like many others.
A fairly standard gherkin, but nothing wrong with that. They are of a good medium size. Not a chip shop sized wally, but not tiny either. They have a good crunch, and a little heat in the taste. They are not as sweet as many, with only 1.5% sugar added. It's one of the reasons I like them. Salt is 3.5% content, fairly standard, but lower than some. Overall, they are a good crunchy gherkin, I would happily buy again, but if you like a sweet pickle, these are probably not for you. I hope you found this review helpful.

Closest Thing to an American Pickle in England
OK I am American and lived here for many years. I have sought high and low for a dill pickle (not sweet). Have tried the spears that Mrs. brand that say dill (only to find out it is a sweet pickle - why add sugar?). Have tried polish brine - yuck! This is the closest thing I have found that has a nice crunch, no sugar, and a nice sour taste. As another reviewer said and I agree that I would give 5 stars if it had dill added to the ingredients. But this has as close as I can find to an American "dill" pickle without paying an arm and leg to an American online store. These have a terrific taste. Not sure why the negative comments unless people are expecting it to taste like most gherkins here which have sugar added.

Different and delicious!
Initially I was a bit disappointed that these don't taste like regular pickled gherkins as they were bought for my kids. They are more salty and spicy. But half way down the jar I realized that I was personally addicted! There's no added sugar or sweetners in the vinegar, which is great. There is a little chilli, red pepper and garlic in there giving a nice depth of flavour. Overall, I love them and am now hooked!

Inexpensive, but excellent
I'm a big fan of gherkins, I buy quite a lot of brands as I like variety, but often return to these. One of the cheaper options, but the quality is very high and the flavour is quite intense, not hot, but plenty salty and piquant, fairly large gherkins, but not mushy at all. Great for eating rolled in sliced ham, with chips or sliced in a sandwich.
