If everything looks even, you're done, if not, replace the caps and do another 10-15 passes. You may have to repeat this process a few times. Once you have a consistent wear pattern you are good to go. make sure to clean off all lapping compound, then clean the rings a few more times just to be sure. Mount and level your scope to fit your eye relief, then tighten/torque the caps to the recommended specs, usually no more than 18 INCH pounds, not FOOT pounds.
