Really nice replica so far. Hope it holds up
This was the controller I used on my first console, at least the one I didn't have to share. My uncle did have the original bigger controller also, the Duke so I used that too growing up as well. Ido also own the Hyperkin version of the Duke. I decided to put that back in the box to conserve it though and use the DuchesS now. It seems an exact replica although I can't compare it physically. The best parts for me are the analog sticks but also the RB and LB buttons. They're very nice to click in and the best shape I have had on a controller. These were not on the original. I play lots of souls-likes and this shape is a bit easier to use than the bigger duke. Although it doesn't have the Xbox start up animation like the DUKE's centre button. Worth the price in my opinion. Seems well built and no issue connecting it to my PC.

Need a good third-party Xbox controller? Look no further.
Out of all third-party Designed for Xbox controllers, this is one of the best controllers I have ever used by a country mile. Buttons feel solid and proper, the hall effect sticks are a delight, very responsive, and the layout is comfortable. The only negative I have is that the USB-C cable slot position is a bit annoying, but I suppose that's by design based on the original Xbox Controller S in the early-mid 2000s.

Doesn’t get much better than this!
Near-flawless, works excellently with the vast majority of my PC library!! (Resident Evil: Village, Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition, DOOM 2016, Batman: Arkham City and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, just to name a few) I absolutely recommend this beauty, even if you usually prefer a wireless controller…don’t underestimate the Duchess!!!

Great replica, for better and for worse. MAYBE unsuitable as a "daily driver" UPDATE: No Support
UPDATE 1: Three Stars: Woke up one morning and the left stick wouldn't register UP or DOWN but would register left/right. You are on your own outside of Amazon's 30-day protection, as Hyperkin say they can only replace faulty hardware in the US. UPDATE 2: Four Stars: Amazon UK graciously gave me a refund. ORIGINAL: Five Stars. I bought this to replace my official pad that gave up. The DuchesS is almost a perfect 1:1 recreation of the original S controller. It is updated to include two large 'clicky' shoulder buttons that mirror the functional Black and White buttons. (The original memory card slots are gone) It's pleasingly weird to have the fantastic, sensitive Hall effect sticks on a "old pad" making my offical modern Xbox pads sticks seem old and cheeky. That being said 20 years is a long time in ergonomics and the pad "expects" you to be resting your index fingers on the triggers instead of the shoulder buttons like modern controllers. It can get a "bit much" if you need to access both triggers and bumpers at the same time. It can get uncomfortable in long sessions with modern games. Died a few times in starfield because of the extra moment to take my thumb off the L Stick and press the menu button buried under my plam. So it should be factored in when buying that most modern games weren't design with the Dutchess in mind. The detachable USB cable feels nice and chunky, I have no doubts about connectivity and love that it detaches from the pad so I can replace it if it gets damaged. Additional: if Hyperkin ever add Hall sticks to their 360 remake, I'd buy that day 1.

Quality
Took some time getting used to the smaller triggers but now I actually prefer it. Great controller my new standard go to.

Just as good as it's grandchildren
If you played the Xbox Original 2000 model you'd love this! Dead zones are spot on!

A controller held back.
Purely as a classic controller, it works. Feels fantastic in the hands. But if you wanted to have custom mapped buttons, in particular, the Bumper buttons on the right hand side. they are hardwired with the bumper buttons, change LB or RB and the two on the panel face are also changed.

Bueno y confiable

The Original Old Reliable returns to the Modern scene
(Skip to the end for TL;DR paragraph) Review from an Xbox user since 2004: I bought mine February 2025, and I said I would write a review after 90 days if I was still using it, and the best news, is yes, it's still working exceptionally well. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this, especially since Microsoft's officially licensed controllers are so cheaply made. This Duchess controller has been one of the best decisions I've made for controllers, and eventually I will buy another one for backup, and because I like what Hyperkin has done. Now the controller will take you some getting used to, as you gotta just let your muscle memory return to you gradually; I remember when I first started using it, I thought this wasn't the bright idea, because things feel off and weird, and the sticks feel way too sensitive, but that went away after 2 or 3 days later. Speaking of comfort also, the buttons are a nice layout, you're not gonna accidentally click anything, and every button has a distinct sound so you know when its pressed. The other compliment I have for the buttons is the triggers and bumpers themselves, as they're so comfortable pressing, that even after 8 or more hours of me using them for gaming sessions, my fingers don't feel tired or puffy, in fact they be feeling quite relaxed, thought that was kinda neat. I will say though, you might not use the black and white buttons too much this time around, as the bumpers act also in place of those buttons, but you can remap them for other buttons if you want, I went ahead and just made them extra Back and Start buttons instead of LB and RB. I'm trying to think of a negative, and the only major negative WOULD HAVE BEEN STICK DRIFT, but not with Hall Effect sticks man, these sticks stay on point, and you can just completely zero out your Deadzone, and theres no movement until you make things move yourself, and that's been the best feeling in a long time. Take it from me, an intermediate gamer who works just as much as I game in my free time, it's a solid buy for anyone wanting to reconnect with the OG controller, but using it for modern games instead, and Hyperkin I'd say, did just that. So yes, 10/10, and I'm really trying to be brutally honest and think off some negatives, but there's nothing at all, which is a great thing, so I'm going to close this out. TL;DR: 100% BUY THE CONTROLLER, GO GET IT. If you worried about money, then get it on sale, and make sure it's not defective, because they will help get you another one if thats the case. This controller fits for any gamer, from Casual, Intermediate (which is me), to the real Hardcore competitive players. Let your muscle memory return to you, because it will take some adjusting too, but it will feel natural in due time. Enjoy gaming with this, and make sure to leave a review so that Hyperkin knows how much people like it. Side note: Thanks for reading this, know I wasn't asked to write this at all by anyone, I wanted to write this after I had alot of time with the product, and I'm not disappointed at all with it, and will be buying more in the future. I also played Marvel Rivals alot with it, and this helped me get to Celestial 3, so real happy I did that with my Duchess. Microsoft seriously needs to stop being so cheap with their officially licensed stuff, because I'd say this is a way better buy than any of their Elite controllers. Like seriously, get this to negate Stick drift if that's the main thing you worried about. Anyway, have a nice day, and thanks for reading all of this.

Looks great, plays bad
Way too large deadzones to actually properly play with, but it does look amazing.
