I am 6’ and 225 lbs and got the large. I tried it without a wetsuit and with a 7mm wetsuit, both were fine.As far as the controls for inflating/deflating I first practiced in a pool before going out into the Monterey bay. Worked great!I didn’t have to fumble for the inflate hose, didn’t have to worry about my orientation, it just worked.Very happy purchase.
