Es ist sehr schön, dass im Rahmen der recht kostengünstigen Serie von Originalalben, nun auch die Musik des braziliianischen Ausnahmemusikers Milton Nascimento erhältlich ist.  Wenn auch diese Ausgabe nicht die ersten und unbedingt hörenswerten Alben wie "Sentinela", "Noticias do Brasil" oder "Encontros e Despedidas" enthält, ist sie ein echter Gewinn. Besonders hörenswert: "Amigo" eine Live-Aufnahme von Milton Nascimento mit Orchester.Markante Merkmale der Musik von Milton Nascimento sind:Eher ruhige Stücke, stets vorgetragen mit einer sehr ausdrucksstarken, emotional einfühlsamen Stimme. Wenn die häufig anzutreffende Bezeichnung "kristallklar" ein eindeutiges Charaktermerkmal sein soll, dann hier. Außerdem präsentiert Milton Nascimento eine brazilianische Musik ganz eigner Art. Obwohl deutliche Jazz-Elemente erkennbar sind - es gibt auch Aufnahmen mit Wayne Shorter ebenso wie mit Pat Metheny - präsentiert Milton Nascimento eine Musik, die sich stark vom Pop-Meanstream bewusst abgrenzt. Wie Milton Nascimento selbst einmal erklärte, orientiert er sich an "seinem Folk" - sowohl im Text als auch von der Musik her. Es ist jedoch eine moderne Folksmusik und populär im positiven Sinne des Wortes.Alles in allem kann ich die Anschaffung dieser Ausgabe nur empfehlen. Gerade Menschen, die es sentimental und ausdrucksstark lieben, sind mit Milton Nascimento gut bedient. Es ist keine Partymusik (auch wenn es richtig fetzige Titel durchaus gibt), aber vielleicht genau das Richtige für die dunkle Jahreszeit. Besonders wer Mercedes Sosa liebt, mit der Milton Nascimento zusammen aufgetreten ist und die in ihrem Repertoire Stück von ihm präsentierte, wird begeistert sein.
