I have several single-purpose pedals (various distortions, etc.) as well as a large Boss multi-effects unit. I was looking for a single compact pedal that had more functionality and the POD Express fits the bill. I was looking for distortion, delay, chorus, etc. and the Express has all of it. The user interface is pretty simple to figure out and use. The different effects sound pretty good. Being able to run on batteries (3 AA) is a plus. It makes the Express a nice option to throw in the guitar case for playing with friends. The main downside is the effects are controlled by a single foot switch, all on or all off. I often find myself longing for the individual foot switches for each effect on the Boss unit.
