There are stereo (2 channel), and even multi channel microphones (stereo mic' are technically multi channel too of course), but all are doing the same thing, (converting sound, into an electrical signal), and "sending" that low level signal to some kind of amplifier, and usually onward to a recorder of some description. This microphone is mono, (single channel), (note the single pin connector, another give-away sign for a mono signal). "2 way audio" is different again, comprising a microphone to "listen", and some kind of amplifier and speaker to "talk". Speakers + amplifier (make sound) Microphones + amplifier +optional recorder are passive (listening) etc. Hopefully this covers what you're asking. Clean, clear audio, no noise, crosstalk from the CAT7 cable! GREAT. YES it's 5x the price of the powered mic, BUT it works, out of the box, and means I can tidy up the cables feeding to the camera, remove all the bulky tape and screening foils, that didn't work reliably anyway.
