These are stiffer than what I'm used to, but they are flossing brushes (brush and floss at same time) so to be effective, they need to be stiff enough. My gums are sore at first, but will get used to it. These brushes are easy to hold on to and come in 4 different colors, to keep yours separate from others, or for you to rotate your own brushes. It's said they have silver in the bristles to minimize bacterial growth, and that they are supposed to dry within 6 hours. You do not want to use your brush if it hasn't dried yet from last use.
