It's authentic and I love the way that Max tells us what it was like, what happened and what it's like today. I definitely feel that reading the book gives you a more positive outlook. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I'm a fan! *by I***Y on 8 January 2012* I bought this book AFTER I had already purchased various of his iPhone hypnosis apps (in particular Weight Loss and Insomnia cure) Those worked brilliantly at helping me get off to sleep, feel less depressed and more positive and confident that I could turn my life around. As I suffer from chronic depression especially in the winter months and have to take medications (which have side effects and only improve my mood rather than removing the depression completely) I was hoping that with Max's help I could help myself more. So yeah, they did just that (although I didn't lose any weight!) and I decided to get the book too - belt and braces. The book is excellent, and I particularly liked the way he doesn't shy away from admitting his own past problems and how he solved them. This makes him eminently qualified to help you and me, imho, as opposed to a practitioner who either hasn't experienced any serious problems, or one who may have done so but doesn't open up and let you know any personal details. He's real, in other words. He's big on AA's 12 Steps, and makes no apology for basing his approach on theirs, which after all is tried and tested worldwide, and which he used himself. But there's more info in the book than just that. Slight criticism - there's quite a bit of miscellaneous filler in the book too, quotations/sayings which you can pick up anywhere, and detract slightly from the main message. Also, the free downloads turned out to be the ones which he already offers free for iPhone through the app store and which I'd already had. The blurb had implied that the book's downloads were new, to go with the book, but they weren't. It would have been good if he had reserved at least one track to give away with the book only, as that was what I thought I was getting, and it was disappointing when this turned out not to be the case. Exactly one year on: I'm even more overweight and I still have chronic insomnia (I'm writing this at 4am!) But I'm more self-confident, happier overall, and more motivated to solve the transient problems that life throws up rather than allowing them to get the better of me. This isn't just down to Max, but he definitely played his part. So overall - worthwhile, and good value.
