For now, 5 stars! Have no idea about longevity, and I have no experience with binding machines to compare features. But for being a less expensive one than some, I’m sure it may not have some bells and whistles. But my first attempt was a total success. I had a paper bound planner cut, laminated, and spiral bound at the local print shop at the beginning of the school year. And it was fine. But the spiral was so big, the planner flopped around so much. The laminating was also not trimmed, and with a lot of use was also coming apart. I did not buy this binder for this job alone, but rather to take matters into my own hands going forward, and attempting to fix the current planner was project number one. I already have a laminator. So I took off the old binding, trimmed the margin of the the old cover, re-laminated it, and used the binder to punch new holes. I did not use the power spiral part, because I did not start the coil at the very end of the holes, and I wasn’t sure if it would work as well. The reason I didn’t start the coil where the holes began on my new cover, was because the holes did not go all the way to the edges of the pages from the previous job, and I did not want to risk (or go to the trouble) of re punching the whole planner. This coil is not one that came with the binder. I ordered separately. The crimper has a little learning curve, because there were basically no instructions, and you most definitely can cut without crimping or crimp it the wrong direction. So look up a couple YouTube videos and o learn that part. I’m so very happy with the outcome. Hopefully now this planner with survive to the end of the school year. 😅 Excited to try more projects now. Oh, and the templates to use for making sure there is no grease on the puncher before you do your real jobs was really great for practice runs anyway! The first couple times were a little crooked so it was good to try a few times before jumping in.

I was a bit hesitant to get this because of the mixed views, but decided to get it because it was the best sounding one on the low end of the price spectrum. I have punched and bound close to 2,000 pages with it in the last 2 weeks of owning it. It is a champ. I am very pleased with it. The only thing is that it doesn't actually bind them...I find the coil often gets snagged on the back cover and needs a slight push on the cover to pop it through each hole. No big deal if you don't mind spinning the coil yourself. The motorized coil spinner really only works to remove the coil if for some reason you want to rebind a book, which is a huge help. My children love helping me spin the coils onto the books, so its not big deal for me. I am definitely glad I bought this!

I think this is a good investment. We bought this for church to bind prayer books. Binding is quick and easy. The machine itself is kind of heavy. It makes the holes quickly. Only complaint is that sometimes the handle is a little hard to push down. It could be just me as I don’t have tons of upper body strength. I keep it in the box for storage because it is a pretty large size for me to keep out all the time. Overall a good purchase that I’m happy with.

It works great, no problems. It says 12 sheets but that's for 20 lb paper, so be mindful of that.

I’m really happy with this purchase. Spiral bounded at least 300 small booklets for homeschool and it’s done the job perfectly. It does take a little practice to get pages lined up right but I would recommend.

This is a nice coil binder. I still prefer to hand coil the papers together but for large jobs the electric feature is ok. You will definitely want to purchase a variety pack of coils. The ones it comes with are not very useful.

I was disappointed with the MAKEASY Spiral Binding Machine because it is much more limited than I expected. The punch is designed for only one type of binding, which significantly reduces its versatility. I also had trouble getting it to punch lightweight cardstock cleanly and consistently, and the handle comes loose easily after a few punches. The automatic coil inserter was another disappointment. It seems to work properly with only the small coils that came with the machine. When trying to use other coil sizes, the automatic coiler did not work and is not nearly as effective, making this feature much less useful than advertised. Overall, I expected a binding machine that would give me more flexibility for different projects and materials. Unfortunately, its limited binding capability, difficulty with cardstock, and coil-size restrictions make it unsuitable for my needs.

The instructions were not the best with putting the handle on and taking the tool off. Does the job , satisfied with the final product of burning coloring books .
