Sturdy and well made.
Use it to hold a Microphone and it is easily adjustable but sturdy enough to stay where I want it.

will not sag under weight
This magic arm is a must for desktop imaging. This is by far the best arm I have found. It is sturdy, and strong enough to hold any camera or projector. Unlike other arms, it doesn't sag of fold under weight, but holds firm at multiple angles. The only negative is that the bracket ( which is very strong and sturdy) does not come apart without using tools , which are provided. Therefore you need to untighten screws and tightening knobs if you want to put it away in a very nice box.all in all i'd recommend this 100% . It's pricier than the competitors, but it will do the job.

Highly recommended.
Love love love this stand.I use it for my XLR mic connected to my desk and sits overhead. it is so flexible as to what it can be used for - camera/phone/mic/light... really nice and neat.

Sent back after damaging my DSLR camera mounted to it
Just had to return mine. The locking rings are not well made and when you attach something that isn't perfectly vertical some of the arms (at least one) will spin on the fitting. In my case a DSLR camera spun and smashed against the desk. I would honestly look at another brand.

Good, but takes time to adjust
This is a solid arm, but it’s not quite “magic” and doesn’t live up to many of the other reviews I’ve read. It’s not a bad product, but it’s difficult to use for top down filming. It takes a good bit of adjusting every time to get it where I want it. And you have to undo all of the joints and pivot points in order to do so.I was hoping it was going to be a lot easier to adjust. If you want an arm that stays in one position, this is a solid choice. If you need to move it a lot, it’s a real pain to keep repositioning.

Absolutely outstanding
What a great experience it is receiving and opening this mount system. It feels like quality the moment you get it, with a very sturdy and classy black card box and over-sleeve. Inside, in dense foam cutouts, is a well-printed full-colour instruction card plus the magic arm itself.Everything you need to start using the arm right out of the box is supplied, as well as three adapters, including a telescopic foot in the ball head. This is when you really begin to realize the quality of construction, as you take the pieces out. Everything is powder-coated metal--mostly aluminum for lightness, with a few steel and alloy parts. All of the arms are wide diameters, giving them the stability to hold greater weight, and all of the screw-locks are smooth to operate, with good-sized keys to make tightening a breeze. The 1/4" ball socket is impressively smooth and all-metal, with a good grip-plate, and can be connected up to the 3/8, 5/8 or baby pin connectors, serving pretty much anything you need to get on there. The double-locking C-clamp on the base means that the arm doesn't have a single pivot point, so won't rotate or loosen as you move the upper arm around. That's a really nice feature, as single-screw clamps tend to loosen with use because they transfer all the torque back to a single rotation point, which slowly unscrews. The amount of weight it can take without vibration is very impressive, and rather than simply state its maximum value, the manufacturers have taken the time to state the value in different configurations, as obviously the farther the tip of the arm is from the central point of balance, the more stress you're placing on the entire structure. But this is sturdy, make no mistake. This is impressively stable. The joints give a good degree of flexibility, but to take the necessary weight they have a toothed system which requires you to lock each in place as you set its position--a little bit fiddly, but I can see that it was the bast way to provide stability for heavy weight. The rotation at each joint increases the flexibility across another plane, and the rubber-covered tightening collars are comfortable to use. Changing the position therefore takes time, but this what gives the arm its solidity in use.Overall I'd say the build quality of this arm really is excellent. It feels sturdy and capable, and the wide range of mounts included means that it genuinely offers a lot of versatility. This is an all-rounder that feels up to the task, for the professional or the enthusiast.I'm going to give this a very big recommendation, as it's clear that the manufacturers were really trying here, and in doing so they've achieved something outstanding.

Good but not as sturdy as I was thinking it will be
Let me explain why 4 stars. Firstly, the clamp is disassembled so you have to use provided tools to assemble it. You have two options there as you can assemble it for thicker or thinner materials to clamp it onto. After you put everything together it doesn't fit into the case properly so it sticks out a little and the lid doesn't fully close. If you put something on the top it might break or damage this arm.Secondly as long as the arm is quite sturdy it all depends on the desk or table or whatever you clamping it onto. Due to long arm there is a big leverage that bends the table top or desk etc. making the whole arm move a little bit. If you have some very lightweight camera or some lightweight equipment that you won't need to touch it too much then this won't be a problem. However, I am using this with my DSLR which is fairly heavy. If I want to take downwards photos/videos and extend the arm a little bit it starts bouncing and moving camera making photos out of focus on many occasions. On the positive note the quality of parts is quite amazing. They look very professional and the whole arm is surprisingly very lightweight. It has 1/4" ball head as well as 3/8" and 5/8" adapter that will suit many different photo cameras, video cameras, laser meters, laser levels, photography/videography equivalent etc. The versatility of moving this arm into any position you want is another great feature. Also the easiness of releasing and tightening little knobs for adjusting is very handy. The clamp has nice little cushion on one side to preserve the surface you clamping it onto from any damage.Overall, it is great magic arm however, it will be suitable more for lighter equipment or any equipment that you set up once and don't have to move it too much.

Excellent Quality — Needs Improved Table Mount Mechanism
The build quality is excellent. The only drawback is the table mount — attaching or removing it can be a bit difficult. If they introduced an easier mechanism for this, it would be perfect.

She's a beauty.
I bought this arm primarily for its ability to reach up and over my 32" monitor. It does not disappoint. This is a solid bit of engineering and way more robust than is needed for my piddly little lightweight shotgun mic.I've used a cheap spring loaded scissor arm before but was never happy with its ability to lock into the right spot. Even the more upmarket spring arms don't have the reach of this Raubay Arm. Different designs - different tasks.I see no reason why this should not do a good job for supporting heavier equipment as indicated in the product photos. Maybe ........ a better ballhead will be needed if you'll be constantly adjusting it but, that's only a maybe.
