## Overview

The Wolf Tooth Components Roadlink DM is a precision CNC-machined derailleur adapter designed to reposition Shimano direct mount road derailleurs for optimal performance with wide-range 11-speed cassettes (11-36t to 11-42t). Weighing just 8 grams, it increases chain wrap and reduces free chain movement, delivering crisp, reliable shifting and enhanced climbing efficiency for serious cyclists.

## Description

If you're running a dramatic 11-speed cassette with Shimano Durce or Ultegra rear derailleur, it's best to upgrade the stock direct mount of the Wolf Tooth Roadlink DM. In this way, you can quickly flick the shift lever and maintain the stock level of chain wrap and crisp shift without feeling anything unstable when the chain moves up and down. Wolf Tooth, optimized the Roadlink DM to a wide range of 11-speed cassettes. Expand your gear range and boost your cycling field of vision than ever before, saving energy in difficult climbing.

Review: Excellent little piece - I got an Ultegra R8000 to try to run a 40t cassette without resorting to "bandaids" like a normal Roadlink or having to modify cable pull to use a mountain derailleur. It did clear the 40t without even maxing out the factory B-screw, and it shifted surprisingly well for having 2"+ of free chain in smaller gears. Jumped on this to see if I could really run a 10-42t XD cassette and free up some range. First thing I notice when I tighten up the bolts- without touching the B-screw from where I had it, it's now got about as much free chain in the 40t as I had in the 11t before! Back that way off, and it's got probably 2 more teeth wrapped in the big cog, and free chain in smaller cogs is maybe 25% more than a normal road cassette, rather than 3-4x as much. Like everything else I've gotten from Wolf Tooth, it looks and feels quality. It's not super-cheap, but then it's relatively low-volume, US-made, and I don't think the price is high either, given that. Well worth the price of, say, a half-decent chain, IMO.
Review: Works well with Ultegra RX800 derailleur and 11-40 cassette - Used the Road link DM with Ultegra RD-RX800 rear derailleur (the one with a clutch) to shift on a 11-40 cassette and it improved the overall performance significantly. To be clear, the medium cage RX800 derailleur can already clear 40T with careful b-screw adjustment, but the shift performance for smaller cogs is suboptimal due to reduced chain wrap. I also found it became quite sensitive to slight cable tension difference so to dial in perfectly is a bit tricky. This b-link from WTC improves chain wrap by offseting the position of the derailleur so that the b-screw not longer needs to be almost maxed out to clear the largest cog (yes it's very important to readjust the b-screw after installation) and the increased chain wrap helps with the shifting performance. The Road link DM is very well made. Still a bit pricey for what it is but it's a simple and easy solution.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this allow me to use a 2004-2008 10 speed Dura Ace derailleur with a 34 or 36 cassette and a 53-36 crankset? Or just later models?**
A: Short answer is no. Those years 2 types of Dura Ace were released,7800 & 7900. If you have The 7900-SS model then yes(google image the differences) This road link DM is meant to replace the part of the derailleur that attaches to the hanger of Dura Ace 9100. Check out the Wolf Tooth Road Link without the DM in the title. That should get you there. And make sure to install a longer chain. Hope this helps. Btw This will not change your derailleur’s Total tooth capacity, But sometimes rules are meant to be broken. Go for it.

**Q: Will this work with shimano 105 r7000 gs cage rear derailleurs?**
A: Yes, it will.
Fits Shimano R9100-generation Dura-Ace, R8000-generation Ultegra, and R7000 105 rear derailleurs

**Q: looking to go to a shimano 11-42 CS-M8000with a grx 810 rear derailleur, would this be the right product?**
A: Yes, this is what I'm using mine for.

**Q: Will this work with an xtr/xt derailleur and 3x up front?**
A: No this is for the road rd’s dura ace 9100, ultegra 8000, and 105 7000. You want to get the mtb version. Check the wolftooth website it will tell you which version you want. I would think it works on a triple, I use it with more chain than they say works for sure, and it still works. I think they say on a 2x you want a 36 max cassette, but I am using a 42.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works 2x with 11-46 Cassette!
*by A***N on April 13, 2021*

Excellent product. I had a low ratio of 1-1 (34-34) on my all road bike and that wasn't enough for me in the mountains. With this, a new chain and an XT cassette I now have a low gear that is 34-46 but still have 50-11 high gear for the road. It will even cross chain, not that I would ride it like that. You will need a 126 link chain and chain tool. The Shimano 105 chain works well and is affordable. I used my existing Ultegra R8000 derailleur. I didn't have to adjust anything but the b-screw.
