Featuring a robust 1000-foot wireless transmission range, solar-powered sensors with battery backup, and a vibrant HD touchscreen console, it’s engineered for serious weather enthusiasts and professionals who demand reliable, flexible, and visually engaging weather monitoring. ## Description The Davis Vantage Pro2 weather station is a research-grade weather station that provides professional-grade data for weather enthusiasts, researchers, growers, and weather professionals. It reports real-time wind speeds up to 200 mph, temperature and humidity, barometric pressure, rainfall and other information such as heat index, dew point, highs and lows, and much more. Users have the option to include solar and UV radiation sensors, as well as a fan-aspirated radiation shield. Vantage Pro2 sensors are NIST-traceable and are suitable for professional weather data reporting. Review: Great weather station for long term use - This is the third Davis Vantage Pro station we've had at this location. The previous one, a Vantage Pro 2 that replaced an original Vantage Pro was placed in service15 years ago. Still worked, however, the solder point for one of the battery terminals failed making the supply power intermittent. Rather than just resoldering that terminal, we decided to replace the system with the newer designed rain bucket and tipping gauge. The new tipping gauge is a different design and we are taking it on faith that Davis has engineered this single tip model to match the performance of traditional two bucket tip designs. (This change made our household climatologist nervous.) The new, redesigned display has some nice features including WiFi connectivity for sending data to the Davis Weather Link internet site and receiving data from air particle sensors, which we do not have (yet.) Happily the Weather Envoy and a collection of Pro 2 displays, in use for the past 15 years, connected seamlessly. The solar light sensor transferred easily to the new housing's base and worked corrected. it appears that the "brains" of the system are unchanged, but I would expect that the the current production model solar panel is more powerful than the one from 15 years ago. In short this is appears to be a good, iterative design improvement over the previous Vantage Pro 2. Review: Super accurate, easy setup - Excellent pro grade weather station, my neighbor has a similar model and the data amazingly matches up daily with mine so they are very accurate. A bit pricey but this seems like it will last, my neighbor has had his for 8 trouble free years. Love being able to monitor station ftom phone, ipad or the monitor it comes with. Highly recommended! ## Features - Accurate, reliable weather monitoring with real-time data updates every 2.5 seconds.
