Is there any difference between the atc and atp stats? obviously one is for a pipe and the other for cylinders but is there any internal difference?

I have fitted them to hot water cylinders but never to any pipework, but as long as the bi-metal strip his held securely close to the hot water pipe i cant see it not working but that is my opinion. Other wise you would have to purchase a Siemens RAM1 Cylinder/pipe Stat or a Salus CT100 Cylinder/pipe Stat

Can it handle 13A current?

Yes, of course. Your heating system will draw less than 3 amps so the stat will never even have to handle anything like 13 amps anyway. Your heating circuit is protected by a 3A Fuse in the switched spur box that isolates it, and the amount of amperage drawn is determined by the appliance, not the circuit size. My cylinder stat has packed in, its a danfoss type at which i think is actually a pipe stat, is this type atc the correct stat for hot water cylinder?
