Is it a print on paper, a painting, or something else?Rustoleum spray lacquer is not compatible with acrylic, so could ruin your art if there is an acrylic finish already on it. I recommend you get a spray can of Krylon Crystal Clear spray ACRYLIC (not lacquer) in gloss, satin, matte, or what ever finish you want. This is compatible with many different types of paints and finishes. Test it first, if you can. I don't recommend either finish for valuable art. Michael's also has various spray finishes (more expensive) made for coating prints and paintings, like picture varnish or something similar. (I usually use Rustoleum spray lacquer only on ceramics and metal.) Good luck!!! **Q: Can I use it outdoor?** A: I sprayed a shiny copper wind yard ornament three years ago, and it is still shiny and protected. It is in the desert sun all day. **Q: Spray on stainless steel bathroom shower caddy?** A: it will work on stainless steel. if you are using clear coat, the surface needs to be rough in order for it to stick. if you are using the lacquer paint, it will stick to stainless fairly well. it has to be dry and clean at start and dont get it wet for at least 24 hours. **Q: Can this be used on rubber, like on the soles of shoes?** A: It can be sprayed on anything. Multiple coats will build thickness. The solvents will attack some rubber or some plastics.
