Having watched several YouTube videos on the topic, I managed to dismantle the mechanism and narrow the problem down to a silicon seal attached to the flush mechanism. I identified a suitable replacement on desertcart, ordered it and the next day a package arrived containing 2 seals. I immeaditely got to work replacing the worn seal and reassembling the mechanism. The replacement seal fitted perfectly and to my amazement did the trick, no more running toilet. Job done! This small seal saved me the time and cost of calling out a plumber. Something so simple, I will now keep a couple spare seals as I think it is the lime scale in the water that caused the original seal to harden and fail over time (3 years!).
