I was referred to this book by a woman in my cancer wellness group.  it is a slim volume and easily read. The impact of the practical thoughts and suggestions are too many to list.It is good for anyone who is dealing with a serious or terminal illness and most importantly a gift you can give to others who are not ill but want to help or don't know how to talk to those who are ill. ( which, I learned is about 90% of  those I know!)I can't say enough about the practicality of this little volume.if nothing more, get it and loan to others in your church, organizations, book club, schools where ever. it teaches you how to talk to these individuals, how to listen, not to judge, how to offer help and assistance - for kids, those who live alone, help the caregiver, and so forth.this book was written by a religious person and offers prayers at the end of the chapters. but even if you are not a religious person, the practical information outweighs  anything you might not condone.
