To use, I wrapped the RPM sensor lead a few times around the outside rubber of the spark plug wire on my lawn mower, and then started up the mower. RPM displayed correctly. This was on a Honda HRX217. There are setup menu's on the RPM meter to adjust for various engine types (2-stroke, 4-stroke, etc...).
