PlayStation PULSE Explore™ wireless earbuds

At first these took some time to initially connect to my PS5 and once they did, it also took some attempts to get these earphones to update. But once finally i got them updated they work great and now connect straight away and I've read reports of these randomly disconnecting and the first time I use them the left earbud did disconnect after an hour but think may that they were not fully charged the first time as after the update I recharged them again and 2 time I used them they didn't disconnect once so I think the problems may have been with charging but the update has appeared to correct this problem and they sound great to, make sure you choose the right ear piece size to fully get the optimal sound performance.

Bought for my partner to use with his PS5 Portal. He loves them and they work fine with his Portal. The buds can also be used with a Laptop or PC as long as you plug the included USB Dongle into the laptop or PC. I thought they were expensive at £199.99. Having said that, they were selling for quite a bit more than that on some other websites! Time will tell if they last and live up to the PS name and quality.

My experience with the PS Pulse Explore has been a letdown... The sound quality, in my opinion, is mediocre. This seems to stem from it having a flat sound low bass profile, which, annoyingly, can't be adjusted. A significant issue is the proprietary PS Link's tendency to disconnect intermittently when connected to the PlayStation Portal. I experienced dropouts more than three times within an hour of gameplay. While these dropouts last only a few seconds, they are highly frustrating as they detract from the gaming experience. After googling the issue, It appears this is a common problem, as indicated by numerous youtube reviews. Hopefully, this will be addressed with a future firmware update. The build quality is ok, but the earbuds are noticeably large, likely due to the magnetic planar speakers they house. Battery life is another drawback, offering only about 4 to 5 hours of usage. Also the charge case is insanely huge for no real reason, and opens with a bizarre sliding action! It is also inconvenient that a dongle is required to connect the earbuds to the PS5, utilising yet another USB port. This is annoying for me, as I already use multiple ports for the PSVR2, a charge cable for the PS5 controller dock, and a USB for my current PS pulse headphones. Oh and the absence of active noise cancellation is another downside big downside, especially at this price point. In conclusion, even if the connectivity issues were to be addressed, I would value the PS Pulse Explore at approximately £100, maybe £120 at most. Overall, I'm not impressed with them at all. But thumbs down. However, I'm considering returning the Pulse Explore buds and getting the Sony Inzone buds instead, gaining active noise cancellation, increased battery life, the use of the Sony headphone app to change sound profiles and saving £20! Five months of use across PS5 and PlayStation Portal, and the PULSE Explore earbuds have become my go-to for late-night gaming sessions. The 3D audio implementation is genuinely impressive — positional accuracy in games that support it is excellent, and the low-latency PS Link connection makes it feel native to the PlayStation ecosystem in a way Bluetooth earbuds simply don't. Comfort is good for longer sessions; they stay put without feeling intrusive, and the 12-hour battery life is accurate in practice. The connectivity complaints in other reviews are worth taking seriously. On PS5 directly, the connection is solid and reliable. On PlayStation Portal specifically, I've had intermittent drops that require reconnecting — stable the majority of the time, but it happens often enough to be worth flagging if Portal is your primary use case. A firmware update improved things somewhat but hasn't fully resolved it. The sound profile is tuned relatively flat with restrained bass. That suits dialogue and directional gaming audio very well, but won't excite if you want punchy, thrilling sound for music or casual media. There's no companion app to adjust EQ, which feels like a genuine omission at this price point. Microphone quality is solid for party chat — clear enough that nobody complains. For PS5 owners who want proper low-latency 3D audio in a compact in-ear form factor, these deliver. Not for anyone expecting versatile everyday earbuds — they're squarely a PlayStation-ecosystem product, and that specificity is both their strength and their limitation.

I was a bit worried before my purchase with looking at other feedback. I can honestly say ear buds are great. The sound is great and the noise cancelling brilliant. They worked straight away on my PS5. The Portal setup was easy too.

Not so good, could not get them to fit my sons ears and their weight meant they would keep falling out. Would not recommend for people with narrow ear canals. Had to return - which was hassle free.

These pulse explore earbuds sound superb, they need a little bass added from the EQ or just select bass boost and they’ll sound amazing. They don’t disconnect, just make sure you place the usb dongle in the front USB port of the console and not the back as it will overheat and cause drop outs.

J'ai été très déçu au début. Son faible, pas de basse, mais ayant l'expérience avec les autres écouteurs Sony WF-1000XM5/4/3 je me suis rappelé l'importance des embouts. J'ai donc ressorti ma collection personnelle et fait des essais. Et là, c'est le jour et la nuit...J'ai opté pour des embouts chinois en mousse à mémoire de forme que j'avais acheté pour le WF-1000XM4 (les embouts Sony WF-1000XM4 sont bien aussi). Il faut un peu insister pour les mettre sur les écouteurs. Mais une fois que les écouteurs sont bien caler et enfoncer dans les oreilles... c'est top. Les basses et le niveau augmente et tout est là. Ces écouteurs me font penser à mes enceintes de monitoring. Ils sont neutres. Il n'ajoutent pas de basses, pas de mediums, pas d'aigus mais quelle clarté dans le son. On a un niveau de détails impressionnant. Après si on aime les basses on peut jouer avec l'équaliseur. Autrement aucune déconnexion avec la PS5 ou le portal mais des fois une déconnexion très brève en Bluetooth avec le téléphone. En conclusion, pour moi, ce sont de très bon écouteurs à condition de bien choisir les embouts point de vue matière et taille. Son clair et détaillé et la double connexion PSLink et bluetooth fonctionne bien. Edit : Après un bon mois d'utilisation, je confirme mon impression de départ. Ce sont d'excellents écouteurs avec un rendu sonore (jeu vidéo) vraiment très bon. Le son est détaillé et précis. J'adore. Le confort est également très bon. Petit bémol, les boutons sur les écouteurs ne sont pas très bien placés. Ils arrivent de les déconnecter en les plaçant sur les oreilles. Je n'ai eu qu'une seule fois une déconnexion de la PS5 (portal aucune). Il suffit d’enlever la clé USB PSlink et de la rebrancher. Ils sont adoptés. PS : Ils sont également excellent pour écouter de la musique. Le son est clair et détaillé. Si vous cherchez de grosses basses, il faudra jouer avec l'égaliseur.

الصوت فيها ممتاز تسمع كل شي حولك ولكن الصوت ضعيف نوعا ما في بعض الألعاب حتى لو كنت رافع الصوت على اعلى شيئ السماعة مريحة ولكن بعض الاشخاص منهم انا تحتاج تغير الربل عشان يكون مناسب للإذن البطارية تاخذ معك 5 ساعات او اكثر بعض الاحيان السماعة كثير راح تفصل عليك وإلى الان سوني ماحلت المشكله مشكلة كثرة الانقطاعات هو العيب القوي الي فيها مانصح تشريها الا لمن سوني تحل المشكله السعر مبالغ فيه

Juego sin play, en ordenador y me van perfectamente, batería me dura de sobra las sesiones de juego que hago y se enlaza perfectamente con mi pc y con el móvil al mismo tiempo, eso es una ventaja buenisima pues no tengo que quitarmelos para escuchar cualquier cosa del móvil. El sonido esta bastante bien y el micrófono igual Quizás sean un poco caros pero yo estoy muy contento con la compra El único pero que le pongo es que no tienen botón físico de silenciar micro desde los auriculares, ojalá y actualizasen eso.
