I've been pretty happy with this product, although the sound quality is far from spectacular. Thankfully, my MP3s are encoded at 192kbps; they would certainly sound worse over the TransDock Micro at the default 128kbps.I find changing the broadcast frequency on the TransDock Micro while driving to be very distracting. For local driving, I'm able to keep it tuned to one station, and for long trips that might require a frequency change, I usually have a passenger with me who can handle the controls. I would not recommend taking on the phone *and* playing with the TransDock Micro while driving.The thing that bothers me the most about this is that the build quality feels cheap, but the price is still premium. I rarely take it in and out of the car, but when I do, I feel like I'm going to break the thing in half. Also, I don't know why they made the top of the unit bright white. The rest of the unit is black, and blends with the interior of my car, but the white top just screams "There's an iPod in this car! Break in and take it!"Overall, I'm glad I bought this, because it suits my needs and I get good use out of it. At the same time, when I'm ready to buy a new car, I'm sure it will have iPod compatibility built-in, and I will be glad to not have to use the TransDock Micro any longer. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works good. *by R***N on Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2007* I bought this transdock to replace one, which I broke by pulling it out of the outlet in the car too forcefully. I like this product because it charges and plays my shuffle in the car. The sound is pretty good. I have only a few complaints - when I had my first transdock the screw & nut that allows you to adjust the angle of the transdock kept coming out and eventually got lost. I e-mailed DLO for a replacement and was assured a replacement screw & nut were on the way to me. After a few weeks I e-mailed DLO again and was again assured that a replacement screw & nut were on the way to me. After another few weeks I e-mailed them again but I never received the replacement screw & nut. I ended up going to a neighborhood hardware store and buying my own. My other complaint is that on this latest generation model the radio frequency begins at 88.1 and the first transdock began on 87.9. I could always use 87.9 with my first transdock. But with this one I have to go higher up the radio dial to find an empty radio frequency and that is getting harder & harder to find with all the country, classic rock and religious stations popping up on air. I use my iPod to listen to mostly alternative music, because there is really only one station in town that plays alternative music. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Bad luck? *by K***O on Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2008* I picked up one of these (at Best Buy) for use with a supported iPod model and an iPhone. Worked fine with the iPhone (aside from needing to go into airplane mode, which was expected) but locked the iPod up starting about 30 seconds after being plugged in and ending about 5 seconds after being unplugged.I contacted the company, they promptly replied, saying that it sounded like a bug and I should return or exchange it where I bought it. I did a return, then placed an order from Amazon. That one had the same problem with the iPod, AND was not recognized by the iPhone. It would allow charging, but no audio came through. From bad to worse :(Input through the aux jack works fine, so I can still connect any device to it and play tunes in my radio-only car, but that involves more cables (and a cumbersome adapter, for the iPhone) and is a less than ideal solution.My recommendation: Make sure you get it from a place that's easy to do returns, and test it right off the bat. When it works, it's great.
