The texture is not a rubberized finish. Instead, it is semi-slick, matte soft plastic. More comfortable and feels better in the hands than the stock shell. Review: Looks amazing! But be Careful! - Ill start this review by saying ive disassemble and worked on and shell swapped hundreds of devices, taking the dock apart over all is very easy. BUT! Be careful undoing the nintendo ribbon cable from the power supply. Ive never seen it before, but 2 of my copper strips were slightly peeled up after removing the ribbon. Why this is bad.. if you do not notice this and just plug it back in, the wires can cross. Not only will your dock not work. But it could also damage components in the switch itself. Now. Of you do end up with a damaged ribbon like me... they do sell it here on desertcart. So just inspect it thoroughly before putting back together.

Ill start this review by saying ive disassemble and worked on and shell swapped hundreds of devices, taking the dock apart over all is very easy. BUT! This replacement face plate for the Switch 1 dock looks fantastic and is very easy to install. Video instructions are provided via a link. I bought the matching Switch 1 shell and the whole package looks fantastic together. I love my OG Switch all over again even with my Switch OLED and Switch 2 taking up my attention lately. Great visual upgrade for the dock with everything included in the kit for the install!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sweet Refresh!!!

So I bought this replacement case for my switch dock thinking it was going to be a breeze but it was a bit more involved then I thought so buyer beware; it isn't just a matter of removing a few screws. I recommend youtubing how to take the case apart and you should be good. That being said I love this new refresh I just gave my switch, it actually stands out and makes me want to play it a lot more now since it doesn't just blend into the background anymore. The faceplate is very detailed and the plastic seems to be of good quality although admittedly not as rigid as the factory Nintendo cover. I love that the company provides replacement Philliphead screws to replace the Nintendo's tri-tip screws as well as the both screw drivers to remove the old ones and add the new ones. My only concern is that the plastic has that soft touch feel that we gamers know all too well doesn't hold up, I'll definitely keep my eye on it but the company does provide a one-year warranty so I'm definitely using it if the plastic starts to peel or strip. P.S. I'll be reviewing the controller housings as well so keep on the lookout for that.
