It did work for some previous Mac OS...** A: I got this for a 2010 MacBook running Mavericks and it works perfectly. When you get the keyboard detection window you just close it, the window even says it can be skipped if you're not trying to hook up a keyboard. Then go into keyboard settings for Keynote and map Start Presentation to F5 and the start button will work perfectly as well. **Q: is this compatible with my MacBook laptop computer** A: This Remote is compatible with new MacBook Pro's, using USB-C, when used with a USB adapter. I’ve used a lot of “it’ll do” tech over the years, and the Logitech R800 feels like a legit, durable tool rather than disposable plastic. Range and reliability: In 100+ seat auditoriums, the USB receiver holds a stable connection, and the range is more than enough for walking the room, stepping into aisles, and teaching from the back without missed slide advances. Laser visibility: The green laser is easy to see on most projection surfaces and shows up well even for students sitting far back. It’s been consistently visible for both younger and older eyes. Timer = real-world helpful: The built-in timer is a surprisingly useful backup.
