EA SPORTS WRC - PS5

Fast paced game with crazy good graphics.

Well it took EAsports to bring this game to where it needed to be. Seriously! This game looks amazing and the sensation of speed and drawn into the surroundings is second to none! Better handling physics is a WRC savior! Wow! I feel connected to the earth and love that my driving talents either make or break each race! I like that there’s many little tweaks I can do to make the game comfortable to my liking while driving. There’s already been an update that fixed several issues I original mentioned in my review but have sense removed because it has been fixed. Thumbs up to the team for fixing them so quickly! I, also, like that I can create my own season in a “quick play” mode and all the countries are open. Well all that I’m aware of anyway. This makes it so nice to just jump in, set up a few races, and play without interruption and all the time draining nonsense. I don’t have much time to play games and this is one of my favorite things the EaSports WRC(12) has brought to the game. This game is easily the best of all in the series, imo, from gorgeous visuals to solid car physics and handling to tweak-able in-game options for a better game experience. I still play Dirt 2.0 and have to say this has topped that when no others came close! UPDATE: still loving the game but there’s one thing that’s irritating me… screen tearing or refresh issues. It’s not constant, thankfully but when it happens it’s annoying. Not sure exactly what’s going on though. I have played just about every racer there is and I absolutely hate low frame rate games. This may not be but what’s happening, is seems to flicker across the center, right in my field of view. Very annoying and, to be fair, im not 100% sure if it’s the game or even the ps5? It could be my Sony Bravia. It’s got a 120mhz refresh rate which should be sufficient. The game is still a blast and I play it as often as I can for a working man.

It is a great driving game with the Codemasters seal of quality today being an internal EA studio, highly recommended for everyone who enjoyed a game in the Dirt series. Its difficulty is adjustable and progressive and suitable for experts and casuals alike.

The best part about EA WRC is its fun driving model and rally stages, some of which are based on real-life stages. The game gives you the option to be as hardcore as you want to be (max AI, no retries, no assists) for the authentic rally experience, or as forgiving as you want the game to be if you love rallying and just want to enjoy the driving and the stages. The Moments mode is also a neat feature as many of these are based on real events, letting the player experience the challenges that the greats have experienced, and these also highlight the strength of the game's driving model. However, some nagging performance issues with occasional screen-tearing and judders dampen an otherwise excellent driving model. In addition, the career mode is quite odd in its implementation, as it feels like a calendar and budget management experience, often giving you conflicting championship schedules forcing you to miss events in some championships because you're participating in another championship. These make acquiring the target championship points (or podiums) more difficult to achieve simply because you're forced to DNF certain events (which isn't realistic because no professional team would be this careless with their scheduling). The builder mode is an interesting concept, where you build you're own car to compete. However, the customization options are limited, so it's likely that players around the world end up creating cars that look exactly alike. Not to mention, to get the fully-customizable parts (brakes, suspension, gearbox etc.), you need to participate in builder events that sometimes occur in the same week as the main championship. So again, you're forced to miss championship events just to get the parts needed to make a builder car competitive. Execution-wise, the Builder feature didn't pan out to be as good as it could've been. When driving, EA WRC is fantastic for the most part, having a better physics engine than the previous KT and Milestone iterations. But once you contend with the Calendar and budget stuff and the odd gameplay mechanics, the game feels a little lackluster in parts. I can recommend the game to someone who likes Rally driving and could spend hours and hours tweaking the settings of their car and retrying stages (some of which span over 20km and take more than 20mins to complete) to improve their times. But if a gamer is looking for a more immersive career mode that improves upon the experience that the KT games have provided in the past, you might be a tad bit disappointed with what's on offer here.

■GOOD■ ◯難易度設定がある。 ◯風景、コース、マシン、キャラクターまで美しいグラフィック。 ◯リアルシミュレーターと言うよりはアーケード寄りの挙動。 (Dirt4のアーケード操作やDirt2.0に近い？) ◯日本のコースを走れる。 ◯無料のラリーパス。 ◯リバリーが変更出来る。 ◯クリエイトキャラクターに日本人のような顔が 収録されてる(しかも美人) ◯グラベルとターマックで走行感覚が全然違う。 ◯ラリースクールがある。 ◯クイックプレイなら最初から好きなマシン、 イベント、ロケーションを選んで遊ぶ事が出来る。 ◯価格が安い。 ○雨を降らせた時のビチャビチャ感はオフロード好きには たまらないと思います。 特にロケーションを選ぶ時に「Summer」と「小雨」を選ぶと お天気雨っぽくなるステージもあり蒸し蒸ししてそうな感じが 素晴らしく表現されてる。 ■BAD■ ✕日本語に対応してない。 言語は仕方ないにしても 字幕だけは日本語に対応 して欲しかった。 ■感想■ ラリーゲームやオフロードのゲームが大好きで、 ラリーに限らずスーパークロスやマッドランナー みたいなゲームまで遊んでます。 下手ですが難しい操作のラリーゲームがクセになり、 難しいのに何度も何度もも繰り返し遊び続けてます。 他のWRCみたいな極端な難しさは無く、個人的には ややアーケード寄りな操作性に感じます。 Dakar デザートラリーでその操作性の難しさが 中毒になり、次世代機で他の国ラリーゲームが 遊びたくなり価格が安くなったEA Sports版 WRCを購入しました。 Dakar デザートラリーの場合は道幅が広く 走りやすいですが、WRCは道幅が狭く ヘアピンカーブなどもラリーゲーム初心者には 厳しいと思います。 自分はオフロードレースゲームはたくさん 遊んできましたがWRCシリーズはPS4版の 7と8を少し遊んだ程度です。 Dirt4やDirt2.0やDirt5を遊んだ後だと難しく 感じると思いますが、車の挙動は4や2.0に 近い印象を受けました。 もちろん少しでも気を抜くとスピンしますし コースアウトも普通にします。 自分の場合はデビュー戦４位で２試合目が３位でした。 いずれも難易度を落としたレベルです。 とにかく難しくて、２試合目はゴールした時には 右のドアがありませんでした。 集中してて外れたのも気が付かなかった。 難しくても徐々に上手くなると思うので練習あるのみ。 ラリースクールモードもあるので簡単なコースで練習 しまくりましょう。 最初からYouTubeに動画を上げてるプレイヤーさん みたいな上手い人は居ないので、とにかくゆっくりで 良いので事故らないようにゴールする事と、 最初は短いコースを選び遅いクラスのマシンを使用して 挑戦した方が良いです。 PS Storeのセールで1680円だったのでダウンロード版で 購入しようと思いましたがパッケージが格好良かったのと Amazonでもセールをしてたので、こちらで購入しました。 EAなので信頼買いです。 他のラリーゲームも欲しくなるぐらい面白い。 しばらく簡単なコースで練習します。 追記・・・9月4日 簡単で短いコース、難易度を下げて速度が 遅いマシンで一位が獲れました。 ドライバーレベルもあり、ラリーパスの アンロック要素もあるので順位が下でも 経験値がちゃんとはいるのでそのはしりは 無駄になりません。 DLCで追加マシンや追加ステージ＆コースも配信されるうえに セールでかなり安くなるので購入しやすいです。

他のレースゲームもよくやるが、これは気軽に手を出していい操作性ではなかった

EA WRC □いいところ ・収録コースが多い ・30kmを超えるロングドライブができる。 ・インプレッサWRC1998が収録されている。 □ダメなところ ・リプレイに速度やアクセル開度などの情報がなにひとつ表示されないはダメ。グランツーリスモを見習ってほしい。 ・タイムアタックのモンテカルロに雪がない。
