They work brilliantly as a distraction because the toddler immediately stops the behaviour and wants to read the story (look at the pictures) and takes part in the activities suggested. The whole family reads them including the siblings and grandparents in that way we are all doing the same thing and providing consistency in dealing with the behaviour.
