Reaching perfection is definitely a challenge!! These are real, detailed recipes with minimal shortcuts: no pre-made stocks, pie crusts or pizza dough, no store bought cocktail sauce or jello pudding mix. 1 example - the bread & bruschetta recipe includes the recipe to make homemade baguettes! Some of the ingredients are extremely specific & can be expensive or hard to find, especially if you live in the middle of nowhere like me lol. Some will have a substitute listed with it which is helpful. I love to cook & bake; I’ve come across ingredients in this book that I wasn’t familiar with, but that’s nothing a quick google search can’t fix! Bought as a gift for a fan of the game and they were super happy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent and Unique Recipes *by A***R on October 6, 2024* I’ve been cooking my way through many of the summer and fall recipes and everything I’ve tried has been really great! Some favorites so far are the survival burger, blueberry tart, and pumpkin pie. Every recipe has clever additions and techniques that make them really unique. The pumpkin pie recipe, for example, had the tastiest pie crust I’ve ever made, with chopped nuts for texture and sugar for flavor (not something I’ve seen in a pie crust recipe before). And the freshly roasted pumpkin gave the whole pie a very complex flavor. I also really like how the recipes are divided into seasons. I’ve been sticking to recipes from the current real life season and it has been easy to find seasonal produce at the grocery that might not be available year round. It also helps narrow down the choices for what to cook next, I’ve cooked more recipes from this cookbook than any other I own.
