Works as advertised. Easy to sharpen any knife in the drawer and to do it safely. I use it on whatever knife I’m about to cut with and it quickly puts a sharp edge on it. Cheaper than buying a big bulky electric sharpener.

Great way to keep a sharp edge on your knife

It kills me to write this review because I love, love, love this brand of knife sharpeners. I've been using them for years and when my Daddy was alive, he always enjoyed it when I sent him his new annual knife sharpener when I also bought mine. You simply cannot beat this sharpener! It's very easy to use. You just put your knife down on the counter, hold it stable with your non-dominant hand, hold the sharpener in your dominant hand (fit most, that's your right hand), and swipe the little metal part of the sharpener over the knife blade from the handle to the tip. I do it over the sink so any little shards of metal can go right into the sink and rinse down the drain. I really like that this is a safe sharpener that keeps your hands protected from being cut at all. The way it's designed is it has a nice, shielded grip that keeps all of your fingers and hands away from the blade. I also like that the general purpose one which I always buy and use is compatible with any knife, smooth or serrated blade, and any length, short or long. It also looks good and it's a size that isn't intrusive. I keep mine either handy in the front part of a drawer or, more frequently, right out alongside my knives because I run it a few swipes across my knives every time I pull one out to use. There's nothing like a fresh, sharp blade, ready to go, especially to cut meat. I personally use a Sharpie marker to write the date I received each one on them so I know which is newest and which can be cycled out to the garage or given away. They're still good. But I just like a fresh one each year, and at the price, why not? It's a real deal! Now, here's where the "it kills me to write this" comes in. I really love this brand. I'm loyal to it. That's why I decided to give this 2-pack of a knife and scissors sharpener a try. I've never really found a good scissors sharpener. I'm sad to be honest and say, throw this one on the pile of "no good" scissors sharpeners. I opened the package, so excited. I did a pair of kitchen scissors my way (as I've done and been instructed in the past). They came out just as bad, if not worse, as before. So then I thought to myself that I should probably go ahead and read this sharpener's specific instructions. I read them, and although I didn't find the part about angling the sharpener particularly clear as to which way, I attempted what I believed it said. Angled, light swipes. It says the lighter, the better. Uhh, okay. I did my best. Did it 3 series. No better. I thought maybe I was angling in the wrong direction, so I tried again, angling the sharpener in the opposite direction. Followed those instructions to a T! Both times, both angles, both series, repeatedly. Nope, nope, nope. My scissors are now worthless. Ruined. Kaput. I hated to say anything negative, but I had to tell the truth about my experience. That's what reviews are for, right? To help each other, honestly? And that's why I deducted 1 star 🌟. I attached the pictures to show you that after trying to sharpen, the scissors not only are ruined, they don't cut at all, instead, drawing this fabric in between the blades uncut. Bottom line: You can't go wrong with this knife sharpener! But you're at your own risk with the scissors 'sharpener'. Nice sharpener for on the go and if you need something for a quick sharpen. Certainly not going to compare to the sharpening stone. But good value for if you’re in a spot.

Thought I was getting 2 knife sharpeners, but I'll make dew with the other one.

Works. Don't know what else to say. Sharpens very well. A little awkward to use at first. Leaves a very sharp knife. Actually sharpens.

A Chef on TV highly recommended this knife sharpener as a must have & everyone needs to sharpen house knives & this tool just takes the guess work out of it. I'm also a retired Hairdresser/Gardener & both sharpeners are perfect for specfic sharpening needs without having to send your implements out for costly sharpening. (I had my Hairdressing Scissors sharpened by a professional & they came back worse than ever, so decided to try the Scissor Sharpener as well to fix my Scissor's & it did a great job.)
