It is not made of genuine leather and has no leather smell to it at all. I like it fine, and would love to keep it, but it does not work for the MS Surface Pro X even though the description says it does. It is not tall enough to snap around the tablet and the cutouts come nowhere near where they are supposed to be. I am having a hard time finding one to fit my PRO X. I am bummed because I really like this type of case and cannot find one to fit. I have ordered a different one and will see what we get!
