Easy way to set Custom WB without needing extra hands
Very easy way to get an image to using to set CUSTOM WB in a digital camera. Yes, I know you can use a gray card, setting the FOV to include just the card and then take an image but with this, snap it on, point it towards your subject and take image. No muss, no fuss, no extra hands needed. Set WB and you're done. No need to frame up anything in the VF or dig out a gray card that either someone has to hold (I usually shoot alone) or set it on something (hard to do sometimes depending on where you're at). And since I use KASE magnetic filters on my lenses, I bought the 82mm version of the ExpoDisc and simply mounted an 82mm KASE screw-on filter magnetic adapter ring on it. A note here is doing it this way also provides me a way to mount the ExpoDisc without having to screw it on and off any lenses. Using a KASE 77-82mm magnetic step-up ring I already carry with me to allow sharing 82mm filters with 77mm lens filters, I simply magnetically pop on the 77-82 step-up ring onto any lens with 77mm front threads that I already have setup to work magnetically, then magnetically pop on the 82mm ExpoDisc on the front of the step-up ring, take the image, set the WB and I'm ready to go. Very quick and painless. I've used the ExpoDisc handheld version for several years and it works great. So does this version and once attached (however you do that) it doesn't require any extra hands.

My favorite way to set white balance.
I have tried many options but this one always gives me the best results

Greatly improved white balance setting.
This version is definitely a vast improvement over version 2. I shoot in raw and in nuetral flat on nikon z7ii and did a few test pics just to get my feet wet and the white balance set compared to version 2 the colirs are are more rich and deep compared to a a flat look across the spectrum with V2. Considering I shoot in nuetral flat this is surprising when popped into lightroom and photoshop. My mainstay and money maker is black and white with the wider color spectrum set with setting white balance gave the test shots when converted to black and white more control when I set the color sliders for b&w color balance producing a richer b&w photo.

A bit of a disappointment but still the best solution available.
The previous (possibly 1st gen) model had a squeeze to attach, (like the Canon lens caps). This model had a threaded ring that is meant to stay on your lens and then it has a bayonet style attachment. I am not going to leave that cheap feeling plastic ring on my lens. My solution was to buy the larger size and just hold it over the lens when I use it. I use the included lanyard to keep a grip on it since it feels like it would come apart if dropped on a hard surface. Disappointing.

Easy to set custom WB
Works well for setting white balance but I would suggest not using the bayonet step ring because it's all but impossible to remove. There are instructions telling you how to remove it but they don't work. It's also made of very soft plastic so it's very easy to damage.

Does As Advertised
Had to watch YouTubers to get a good idea how to use it. Once I followed a few steps, it truly works! I think it's a bit expensive and needs a bit of a handle to hold it over any lens. But I will use it every time! I use it for shooting artwork like watercolor and acrylic paintings.

Perfectly Corrects Difficult Gym Lighting
This is a terrific time-saver, as no color balancing in post production is needed, whether JPG or RAW to start with. This decrypts the trickiest lighting I've encountered, which is in gyms, stadiums, and their entry halls. No more purple performers! Works great! Love it! Buy one and you will too.

Disappointed
I own an earlier version that I love, this new version is cheaply made, flimsy and in my opinion, not worth the cost, very disappointing. I returned it the same day I received it.

Better than I thought
This has helped better than a grey card for doing my WB on the fly. It has come in handy already on a shoot, and now there is no turning back.

V3
Expodisc upgrade. V3 is an improvement over V1 and V2. Its major improvement is in being designed for use in the manner that they best used (Held over the lens, not clipped onto the lens).
