## Overview

The Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flush is a comprehensive guide by Andreas Moritz that reveals how gallstones silently impair liver function and contribute to widespread chronic diseases. This expanded edition offers a detailed, do-it-yourself cleanse protocol rooted in Ayurveda and integrative medicine, empowering readers to detoxify their liver and gallbladder naturally. With over 30 years of expertise, Moritz provides practical steps, scientific explanations, and preventive strategies that have helped millions improve energy, digestion, and overall well-being.

## Description

In this greatly expanded edition of his international bestseller, Andreas Moritz reveals the most common but rarely recognized cause of illness - gallstones congesting the bile ducts in the liver. Besides leading to gallbladder diseases and gallstone attacks in at least 20 million Americans each year, in many cases, liver bile duct congestion sets the stage for even more serious, seemingly unrelated, conditions, including obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Most adults living in the industrialized world, and especially those suffering a chronic illness, such as irritable bowel syndrome, heart disease, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, cancer, or diabetes, have in fact hundreds if not thousands of gallstones (mainly clumps of hardened bile that escape detection for they are invisible to x-rays, ultrasound, and CT scans) blocking the bile ducts of their liver. This book provides a thorough understanding of the liver and its complex functions, what causes gallstones in the liver and gallbladder, and why these stones can be held responsible for the most common diseases so prevalent in the world today. It provides the reader with the knowledge needed to recognize these stones and gives the necessary, do-it-yourself instructions to painlessly remove them in the comfort of one's home. Packed with images, the book also gives practical guidelines on how to prevent new gallstones in both the liver and gallbladder. The liver and gallbladder flush (cleanse) has led to extraordinary improvements in health and wellness among millions of people who have already given themselves the precious gift of a strong, clean, revitalized liver. Besides providing the practical procedures to cleanse the liver, gallbladder, kidneys, and intestines, Moritz explains in great detail the origin of all types of common diseases and how to prevent or reverse them naturally. The book is packed with precious, time-tested approaches designed to return the body to a permanent state of balance and vitality; it includes a complete program of healthcare, which is primarily based on the ancient medical system of Ayurveda and the vast amount of experience Andreas Moritz has gained in the field of health restoration during the past 30 years. Moritz is the author of 15 groundbreaking books on natural health and a leading, internationally recognized, authority in the field of integrative medicine.

Review: Disgusting but fun. - Now, I may be an unusual demographic to buy and use this book, because I have never had any liver or gallbladder problems in my life, and I enjoy robust good health in general. So I sort of just did the Amazing Liver And Gallbladder Cleanse on a whim. I had seen pictures and videos of the things that came out of other people (by the way, I recommend Jaime French's youtube video about her own cleanse - very funny and thorough), and I had heard that we ALL have these "stones" in us, whether they're causing any obvious symptoms or not. I figured, better out than in, right? So I let curiosity take the wheel and went ahead with the cleanse. Let me mention that I read the whole book, cover to cover, and I find myself in firm agreement with Moritz on a number of subjects and in firm disagreement with him on a number of other subjects. We agree that modern medicine often does more harm than good (like when it removes perfectly good gallbladders!) and we disagree on the appropriate diet for humans. Moritz recommends a vegetarian diet with lots of added ghee, and I happen to be a high-fat low-carb carnivore who eats basically zero vegetables or plant foods of any kind. Because of that, I didn't follow Moritz's instructions to the letter. I know that he wasn't actually the inventor of this cleanse, so I knew I didn't have to believe everything he said just because I wanted to use this technique. I'll tell you when and where I differed from his game-plan: 1) I didn't eat a low fat or vegetarian diet during the six day lead-up to the cleanse. I ate bacon and eggs and cheese and beef, just like I do every day. This didn't seem to effect the outcome. 2) I also didn't want to be drinking 32 ounces of apple juice for six days, as that was way too much sugar for me. I did the alternative 8 ounces of tart cherry juice instead, and that seemed to work just fine. 3) I didn't go to get a colonic before or after the cleanse, as he directs. That seemed too expensive, invasive, and gross to me. Instead I did a salt water flush on the night of the fifth day, and another on the morning of the sixth. That involves just chugging four cups of warm water mixed with two teaspoons of natural salt. (Google it for complete instructions). It goes through you and cleans you out. Again, I don't think this negatively affected my results. Other than those changes, I carefully followed Moritz's directions. Just like everyone else who tries this, I released a whole bunch of waxy green "stones." I'd say a couple hundred, most very small, and some about the size of my ring finger nail. This started on the night of the sixth day, and continued, petering off, for another two days. I didn't get any big honkers like some people have shared pictures of, but I figure that that's because I am pretty healthy and haven't ever really been one to abuse my liver. And to address the people who say that these green blobs are the product of a saponification reaction between the olive oil and the Epsom salt, I have to ask, respectfully, what? Saponification takes place when the ester bonds in a fat are broken by a strongly alkaline substance. Usually lye is used, which has a pH of 13-14. It's strong enough to burn your skin, as was shown in the movie Fight Club. Epsom salts have a pH of 7, that is, they are neither alkaline nor acid, but neutral. They would be useless for saponification. In the presence of the acidic grapefruit juice (pH 3) mixed with the olive oil, the whole slurry would be much more acid than alkaline. It might make a nice salad dressing, but it will never saponify. There IS an alkaline substance present, once the slurry moves out of the stomach, and that is the bile itself. Human bile has a pH of 8.2. Even in isolation, that's nowhere near strong enough to create soap, and it's not in isolation. It's added to the slurry for the specific purpose of neutralizing stomach acid. Human stomach acid is very strong, with a pH of 1-2. If that didn't get neutralized, it would eat through the lining of our intestines (one reason why it's essential to keep bile flowing easily from your liver and gallbladder). So the whole reason for the existence of bile is so that the slurry that leaves the stomach can be brought from high acidity back to neutrality. So there is never any part of this process in which a strong alkalinity is present. So the olive oil's ester bonds can't be broken. So no soap can form. So whatever you're seeing in the toilet, it is NOT little blobs of green soap. I'm sorry but the chemistry doesn't work, the math don't math. Try again. If you're still in doubt on this matter, you can prove it to yourself. Instead of using green olive oil for the cleanse, you can instead use clear macadamia oil (Moritz approves this alternative the book). That way, when green stones come out of you, you will know for sure that they are not just congealed olive oil, but actual clots of bile (bile is bright green), and all your doubts will be answered. Let's hear no more about it. Anyway, as to my results: like I said, I was healthy to begin with, so nothing very drastic changed on that front. The most noticable result for me was an enormous surge of energy and motivation that came two days after the cleanse (I should add that that is the same time that I finally stopped seeing green stones in the toilet). I went on an insane purge of clutter, unlike anything I have ever done before. I tackled every stuffed closet, every crammed bookshelf, every jam-packed under-bed-area. It was wild. This was clutter that had been suffocating me for centuries, it felt like, all fought and defeated in three days. Amazing! I can't tell you how relieved I feel now! My house is clear and clean and beautiful. After a few days, this wild surge of energy died back down. A bit disappointing. So that was when I decided to do the liver cleanse again. Moritz says to wait at least three weeks before starting another round, but I still had the extra grapefruits I had bought (not realizing how many I would need for the cleanse - the answer to that is one and a half) and I didn't think there would be any harm in doing the whole thing again, so I did it. For the second round, I used apple cider vinegar instead of tart cherry juice (4Tbsp in 3 cups water, sipped throughout each day) for even less carbs. I also did only one salt water flush, the morning of the sixth day. Otherwise everything just the same. I wish I could end this story on a dramatic cautionary note, like "and then the devil himself plopped out into my toilet and told me to follow directions better" but no, it was fine. On the second round, I got only very small stones, about the size of lentils. But there were at least another two hundred of them, so I think it was still worthwhile to get them out. Here's a helpful hint that Moritz certainly won't tell you: getting plenty of choline in the diet is what allows the body to make phosphatidylcholine, which is what allows the body to maintain fluidity of the bile. In other words, if your diet lacks choline, your bile will clot up into stones in your liver and gallbladder and biliary duct - the same stones we just went to so much trouble to remove. The foods that are richest in bioavailable choline are beef liver, eggs, beef, chicken, fish, etc. Exactly the foods Moritz will tell you are bad for you... Anyway, I do plan to keep repeating this liver cleanse at least once a year. But now that I'm a carnivore, and my diet includes loads of choline, my expectation is that I'll probably never release any of the championship clunkers that some people's photographs show. Oh well, I guess good liver health is better than award-winning toilet-goblins any day! I wish all of you the best of luck with your liver cleanses, and I hope I answered any questions you may have had. I'll just add the final reassurance, for any nervous readers, that at no point in any of this did I feel any pain or sickness. My stomach made some loud gurgling noises after each dose of Epsom salts, but I had no nausea or cramps, ever. My final advice to you (and I'm in harmony with Moritz on this) is STAY HYDRATED! Drink plenty of water throughout the entire process, and for as long as you want to keep a healthy liver. Wait, one last bit of advice - a plastic fork is the perfect utensil for fishing prize stones out of the toilet. It works well, and you can throw it away afterwards. Ah, wait, an even laster bit of advice: this book is available as a free PDF online. Just google it. I hope desertcart doesn't delete my review, for telling you that... Happy cleansing, friends!
Review: My cells feel better.. I feel more alive. - I have done one liver flush. But even before, as I was doing some of the other cleansing techniques in the book, I noticed improvements. After ONE liver flush, I have noticed: My hair doesn't get instantly greasy, my skin feels better (I have chronic acne/oily skin), my lymph nodes on my neck are no longer swollen, I am less bloated, I feel less congested overall. Some remaining symptoms I am hoping will clear up: Chronic fatigue, IBS, allergies, brain fog, tension headaches, general stiffness in my body. I didn't actually see any stones (or just don't know what they look like yet) but I believe this is partly because my digestive system is extremely sluggish and my stool is much less watery than others describe when doing this. BUT I noticed that my second enema felt like it cleaned out SO MUCH toxicity from my body compared to the pre-flush enema that I am fairly certain it worked, also considering the noticable improvements I mentioned previously. This book is packed with life changing knowledge. I am so horribly upset with the modern medical system and its absolute ignorance of the human organism as a whole. I have endured so much unnecessary medical trauma and I am only 28. Andreas Moritz has gifted me with the power to heal myself completely. I plan to order his other books as well. Update: After my fourth flush, I released many stones, many of which were large and smelled like gasoline. I had issues in the beginning due to chronic constipation, I'll be honest I didn't do the Colosan cleanse until after my third flush which I should have, and I highly recommend it. It's available on here for 30 bucks, I got the capsules. Once you start these flushes, you will have a much better relationship with your body and gain clarity as to what you're eating and doing and how it might be contributing to ill health. It will improve your natural intuition.
