Very happy. - As a former semi-pro FPS player, and having had gaming as my primary hobby for 40 years, I am really impressed with this headset. It is very, very comfortable and can be worn for long hours without any discomfort. I wear glasses, and often headsets press them into your head and after a while it hurts. This one doesn't do that, it is very comfortable even while wearing glasses. Secondly it looks and feels like a quality product, the brushed aluminium extenders really feel like a good design decision and add to the feel of luxury. The microphone is excellent quality, good enough for online karaoke - and very clear on Discord, WhatsApp, and in game. Sound quality is absolutely perfect for games. You can easily hear where your enemies are coming from in FPS games and RPGs and the closed cup makes it very immersive. They have a lot more mid and top range, not as much bass, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend these for listening to music, but for gaming they are very, very good. Great value, quality product. **Q: The mic won't work. Is there any trick to make this going?**
A: Odly enough I had an issue with one of my Xbox controllers where the sound and mic didn’t work, but when I plugged it into my other controller everything worked perfectly fine. Maybe it might be a controller issue!

**Q: Does it require any software to have DTS surround sound? Or is DTS surround sound built-in the headset?**
A: I'm not aware of it requiring any software but I am on ps5 so not available for me if needed. The 2's provided a much better sound profile in my opinion.

**Q: Does this headset have mic monitoring right out of the box so I can use it with my Xbox series x, or is that feature only available on PC?**
A: No, has to be turned on in windows control panel. In general I can hear surroundings pretty well including my own voice depending how loud I set the volume.

**Q: Does DTS spatial audio work using 3.5 mm aux input?**
A: I think so, but to be sure contact Hyper X store just to make sure

As someone who spends hours gaming, I bought the HyperX Cloud III looking for two things: comfort and durability. On those fronts, it absolutely delivers. What I Like: All-Day Comfort: The memory foam earcups and headband are incredibly plush. Even with glasses on, I can wear this headset for a 5-hour session without any pinching or crown ache. Tactical Audio: The sound is tuned perfectly for competitive gaming. The treble and mids are crystal clear, making it incredibly easy to pinpoint footsteps and directional cues in shooters. Upgraded Microphone: My friends on Discord immediately noticed the upgrade. My voice sounds clean and crisp, and the built-in mesh filter means you don't need a bulky foam windscreen. Build Quality: The aluminum frame feels rugged and premium, like it can handle being tossed around a desk without breaking. What Kept It From 5 Stars: Flat Bass Response: If you love deep, booming bass for music or cinematic single-player games, you might be disappointed. HyperX tuned these to be more neutral, so explosions lack that heavy, satisfying rumble. Barebones Software: The NGENUITY software is underwhelming, and the DTS:X spatial audio feature sounds a bit artificial to my ears. I prefer leaving it on standard stereo. The Verdict: An outstanding, near-indestructible headset for competitive players who value comfort above all else. Just look elsewhere if you are a certified bass-head.
