Transform vintage finds and broken objects into jewelry to treasure with Vintage Revised Jewelry. Nichole Bush has a passion for creating one-of-a-kind jewelry by combining antique and vintage treasures to make distinctive and unique statements, and in these 35 projects, she shares that passion with you. Old keys become quirky earrings or hang on chains as a pretty necklace. Pieces of watches capture a moment in time —combined with other trinkets, they're turned into a lapel pin or wrist cuff. Anything can be a charm for a necklace or bracelet—from beads to brooches and earrings, even door knobs. Metal locker number tags act as intriguing focal points and tintypes (photographs on metal rather than paper, made in the late 19th century) provide an instant echo of the past. Some designs are deeply personal, incorporating things that remind Nichole of family and friends, and she suggests what you might include for your own individual pieces. With clear, step-by-step artworks and instructions, a helpful techniques section, and lots of inspiration throughout, you will soon become skilled in making your own pieces of nostalgic, stunning jewelry. Review: FINALLY! Great, wearable ideas using vintage jewelry pieces - I checked this book out from the library and was so impressed I had to own it. The author presents many projects and techniques to turn vintage jewelry odds and ends into wearable art. As a collector and seller of vintage jewelry, I end up with many broken or partial pieces which I'd like to give new purpose. I am also a jewelry maker and was happy to see familiar and new ideas combining new and old materials. Review: Big Help! - We just inherited over 50 banker's boxes of vintage broken, and some not broken jewelry. I have owned a small jewelry business for years, but everything I make is new. These boxes were overwhelming, and at first I just saw a whole lot of junk...but this book was able to get my mind thinking in a very creative and different direction. I unfortunately didn't inherit any really neat French stuff, but I think we'll be able to create some very interesting pieces. Thanks Nicole!

Great book!
Just received two copies- one for myself and one for a crafty friend! Already read it cover to cover and am excited about trying out some of the simple step-by-step projects. This is a great book both for beginners and for creative jewelry makers in search of new techniques and inspirational ideas.

There is NO WAY I would wear this JUNK!!!
This book was a major disappointment and a big waste of money. This is the big problem with the book seller not allowing the buyer the opportunity to flip through a representative number of pages to at least get an idea if the book is what they are looking for. There is no way I would wear the junk that this woman has used to make this jewelry!!! Talk about "found objects"....the cover is the best of what's in the rest of the book, and that's not saying much. Who would wear door knobs as jewelry? Seriously? There isn't an option to give no stars or I would have done that.....I hate to do that to any woman, however I am surprised that there wasn't even one piece of jewelry in this book that I would want to wear!

creative inspiration
A good book with some great ideas that help to stimulate my creativity. Not quite as in depth as I thought it would be but still a good book.

Cute book not enough description.
The author used terms without explaining what they meant. Which is fine for people in the know but now a newbie like myself. Scanning through before I bought it I noticed she explained how to open and close a jump ring so I assumed she would have more of a step by step. But alas.. no.

Imaginative and Vintage
I love this book, it's full of eyecatching jewellery ideas for those bits and pieces of vintage and broken jewellery every hoarder has in the bottom of a box somewhere. I never follow instructions to the letter, but like to get ideas before adapting them for my own use- for better or worse it's how I cook as well;-) This book is ideal for people like me but if you like a little more instruction you'll find it perfect as well- the instructions are thorough and clearly written and illustrated. Of course it goes without saying that even following the instructions to the letter your jewellery will only ever be similar to the ideas in the book because your 'found' objects are going to be different. Can't wait to start my hunt in the New Year for more treasures and trinkets for my jewellery.

Vintage Jewellery for amateur makers.
For any budding or already established jewellery-maker....this book is very easy and inspiring to follow. I first got it out of my local library and liked it so much I had to have it! It gives great tips on recycling old unfashionable jewellery you may have inherited from great-aunt Maude and give stuff a wonderful new life.....and I have already made several items similar to those in here!
