SmallRig Arca-Swiss quick release mount clamp for DJI Ronin RS3 Mini is perfect!
First of all, I have to give shout out to DJI for making a fantastic gimbal. The only issue I have with it is the proprietary clamp for mounting the camera. I use an Arca-Swiss SmallRig L-bracket mount for my Sony A7IV to use on my tripod and it is an absolute pain having to remove the L-bracket then install the DJI clamp mount whenever I switch between my tripod and the gimbal. The SmallRig Arca-Swiss quick release clamp solves my problem. Ingenious! I can now seamlessly and quickly mount my camera onto the gimbal and tripod. This product is inexpensive but extremely well made and designed. Great job Small-Rig!

Top-Tier Quality – My Go-To for Rigging Sony Cameras

Another nicely made component from Small Rig
Small Rig components are well made and work like they say they work. I used this to allow me to keep my Peak Design Arca Swiss plate on my camera permanently while also using my camera on the DJI RS3 Mini.

The big knob on the back hits my gimbal
The product is high quality, but I had to move the mount to the far end of the base plate so it wouldn't hit the base of the pan arm when holding the gimbal vertically. This makes balancing a little more challenging. But even like this, if I'm holding the RS3 mini with a low grip, like a flashlight, and tilt it to the side at all, the knob hits the pan arm.

Double-edged sword of compatibility
The very well designed RS3 SmallRig Arca-Swiss adapter mounts easily to the RS3. I have a SmallRig Rhinoceros cage mounted to my a7RV. The only way I can attach the SmallRig adapter to the camera & RS3, is to remove the adapter from the RS3, attach the adapter to the a7RV, then attach both to the RS3. The problem IS, the Rhinoceros cage only allows the rig to slide onto the RS3 from the left side of the camera. The Rhinoceros Cage does not allow mounting from the right. Given the very secure mounting protocol of the Rhinoceros cage to the a7RV, I will never remove the cage from the camera. The cage is also great for handholding when shooting a stills assignments. Not a very convenient process with the only important benefit being, I’m all Arca-Swiss compatible. Once mounted, very stable.

Quick release
I have the rs3 and i use arca swiss plates for my tripods in that orientation. So when i got this gimble i was not happy. This piece plus the longer arm has changed my feelings about the rs3 mini gimble. I shoot on a fx3 and tamron 28 to 75 or 75 to 180 usually

this clamp is a total lifesaver
this clamp allows your Arca-Swiss compatible camera cage to slide directly into the gimbal. It eliminates a layer of hardware, reducing weight and potential points of failure.

A must have replacement to DJI plate
Arca is standard, I wish this came with the DJI but smallrig made this great replacement quick release clamp. Way faster now to remove the camera and it reduces the height of camera, which is ESSENTIAL for balancing !
