Microplane 46820 Premium Orange Zester/Grater

I wasn't sure if I needed a Microplane, but I saw it everywhere, so I thought I'll try; I love good kitchen tools. It's incomparable to any other graters. So, much, better. So effortless to grate. You don't need to force the whatever you grate against the grater, just shreds. A versatile tool, good for grating, zesting and mincing (garlic or ginger). Fairly comfortable to hold, although the handle, for my smaller hands, is just a little bit thick. The result will be much finer than on an average grater, to bare in mind. Hard cheese is like some snowflake stands, grates much thinner, light strands. I do like this, though. More like shaving than grating, if that makes sense. Cleaning isn't straightforward, though; cleaning inside the folded sides is a bit difficult.

I didn't realise I needed a special tool for zesting citrus fruit - I thought I was managing just fine with a mini-grater. How wrong could I be? The Microplane Premium Zester/Grater is so efficient, it takes seconds to zest an orange. It gives you just the real flavoursome bit of the fruit, finely shredded with no pith. It washes easily too, with hot soapy water and a sponge - says dishwasher safe, but as I wouldn't dream of putting a sharp knife in the dishwasher, nor would I put this in. But you probably can. It is a good, balanced size to hold - zesting is now a pleasure rather than a tedious hit & miss chore. If you are reading this, then you obviously have the slightest thought of buying one...DO IT.

Perfect for grating, it's fine/small grater. Hence the name micro. your buying this for garlic, ginger parmasan, zestimg etc amazing however if your buying to use for carrots, cabbage etc. Then purchase a grater not a micro one! Peace and love. As I saw a few silly reviews had to add that in there.

I bought one of these last week as my old Tesco one had become very hard work to use as I have Rheumatoid disease which affects my hands. It was starting to really hurt and as I love to bake I thought it was time for a new one. I'm so glad I picked this one, I can't believe how easy and painless it is to zest with it! I made chocolate orange loaf cakes this morning and zesting the oranges was a dream!! It's super sharp and the zest just comes away so quickly and with zero effort, and it leaves all the white pith behind. I also love the guard that it comes with so no one cuts themselves when it's in the drawer. And I was able to choose a red one to match my kitchen. Fantastic value and one very happy customer indeed.

There is a reason certain chefs, TV cooks, and cookbook writers use a Microplane grater. Easy to use, makes zesting an absolute doddle, great on grating fresh ginger, and copes with chocolate perfectly. I am confused with Amazon asking for a star rating for versatility. Eh? It isn't a Swiss Army Knife, it's a grater (there are limits). Lastly, love the bright, bold, red colour; which goes perfectly with my (accents of pink and red) kitchen and me camper van's kitchenette. Two purchased, two cooking areas to make healthy food that will hopefully keep me alive. How's that for cooking confidence?

Grating Parmesan quickly into a large pile of tasty fluffy ‘angel dust’ saves waste and it makes short work of garlic (less messy than a garlic press) and of course it zests lemons. Lightweight, easy to use. Not too easy to clean but a gentle tap releases most of what you’ve grated. But be careful of grating your fingers.

Is a microplane... not much to say, good and sharp as always

Many of the recipes I have been trying are American & require a microplane or rasp as they are called in the US. Having once lived in the US for many years I was used to this kitchen utensil but found it somewhat difficult getting one in the UK. When I saw the price I thought it was expensive but decided I needed it. Forget the price, its worth every penny! Forget using a grater to get lemon or lime rind and taking way too much time to get even a teaspoon full. This gadget is incredible, it takes seconds. If you are not particular about the colour of the handle you can pay less. This red one was the least expensive. Every kitchen should have one of these you will have your money returned by the ease of acquiring citrus rind!

Ottimo articolo...direi proprio professionale.Impugnatura robusta e ben fatta .Io ho scelto quella con impugnatura arancione ed è veramente graziosa.Di facile utilizzo e di facile pulizia.Ha una custodia in plastica che preserva bene la microplane .Fino ad ora la ho utilizzata per grattugiare le scorze degli agrumi ed è eccezionale.Proverò anche con cioccolato e spezie tipo noce moscata...Decisamente ha un certo ma se passate molto tempo in cucina fra pentole forni e fornelli ve la consiglio...

Da ormai qualche anno sono passato alle grattugie della microplane, stanco della fatica immane che si deve fare con le vecchie, classiche grattugie da parmigiano (totalmente inutili per grattugiare qualsiasi altra cosa, tra l'altro). Mi si è aperto un mondo: - si fa meno fatica - si puliscono molto più rapidamente (non resta tutto appiccicato/impastato, cme nelle vecchie grattugie) - grattugiano non solo i lparmigiano/grana, ma anche la buccia degli agrumi, le noci moscate, il cioccolato, e qualsiasi altra cosa Ce ne sono di vari tipi, con diverso spessore della lama che realizzano un diverso effetto sul prodotto grattugiato finale (documentatevi sul sito della microplane e scegliete secondo esigenza), più o meno adatte ai diversi prodotti da grattugiare. Attenzione: nella mia esperienza più adatto vuol dire assolutamente perfetto per il prodotto, meno adatto vuol, dire che grattugia comunque meglio del 95% delle altre grattugie!) Overall: costano un po' più della concorrenza, ma la qualità è strepitosa... e il tempo (e gli improperi) che vi faranno risparmiare compensano ampiamente (secondo me) il costo iniziale maggiore! Prodotti consigliatissimi!

Die Verarbeitung ist wirklich top und ich bin mir sicher, dass diese Reibe mich noch lange begleiten wird. Die Schärfe der Reibe ist ein weiterer Pluspunkt. Sie zerkleinert und reibt mühelos verschiedene Lebensmittel wie Zitrusfrüchte, Käse oder Schokolade. Die Ergebnisse sind einfach fantastisch. Die Reibe schneidet die Zesten oder den Käse in feine Streifen, ohne dass dabei Fasern oder Klumpen entstehen. Ich war wirklich beeindruckt von der Präzision und der Qualität der Ergebnisse. Ein weiterer Vorteil des Microplane Zesters ist die einfache Handhabung. Die Reibe liegt gut in der Hand und ermöglicht eine präzise Arbeit. Ich kann sie problemlos über eine Schüssel oder direkt über das Gericht halten, ohne dass sie mir aus der Hand rutscht. Die Größe der Reibe ist ebenfalls optimal. Sie ist nicht zu groß, um sie bequem zu halten, aber auch nicht zu klein, um effizient arbeiten zu können. Die Reinigung der Reibe ist wirklich einfach. Ich spüle sie einfach unter fließendem Wasser ab und sie ist sofort wieder einsatzbereit. Es bleiben keine Rückstände in den Zähnen hängen, was ich sehr praktisch finde. Ich habe die Reibe auch schon in der Spülmaschine gereinigt und sie hat ihre Form und Qualität behalten. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt ist die Vielseitigkeit des Microplane Zesters. Er eignet sich nicht nur zum Zerkleinern von Zitrusfrüchten oder zum Reiben von Käse, sondern auch zum Zerkleinern von Knoblauch oder Ingwer. Die scharfen Klingen machen es wirklich einfach, verschiedene Lebensmittel zu zerkleinern und ihnen eine feine Textur zu verleihen. Ich habe den Zester auch schon zum Reiben von Muskatnuss verwendet und er hat seine Aufgabe ebenfalls sehr gut erfüllt. Abschließend kann ich sagen, dass der Microplane Zester Küchenreibe eine ausgezeichnete Wahl ist. Die Qualität ist wirklich beeindruckend und sie erfüllt ihren Zweck perfekt. Die Schärfe, die einfache Handhabung und die Vielseitigkeit machen sie zu einem unverzichtbaren Küchenutensil für jeden Koch. Ich kann den Microplane Zester uneingeschränkt empfehlen und bin mir sicher, dass er auch Sie begeistern wird.
