We live in rural area and have poor lighting in some areas. I bought the kit and use it to turn on the porch light and to control lamps in two different buildings. Very easy to set up and use. i especially like the power unit as it replaces a wall socket and provides USB outlets to charge phones, etc. Now the wall sockets can used for lamps and other devices that I can turn on/off with my phone. There are manual buttons on the units as well so you don't have to use your phone if you choose. I have a bathroom installation where I actually use the manual buttons more than the phone. LOL I'll be getting some more.

I would have returned to this product if I would have remembered to do so on time. It theoretically does what it says it will do but it ties to two different apps, one of which is the old version that doesn't have most of the features anymore. The other one is the new version that has the features but doesn't yet support this product. Even then, you almost have to Palm the entire light switch to get it to turn on or off. You can't simply graze your hand over it to have it turn off. In addition, it takes forever to communicate between the pieces and does so intermittently. For example, when I pressed the button on the switchmate app, it would take several seconds before the light would respond if it did at all. I used it for a total of one day and experienced no fewer than four errors. It's a great idea and from what I've heard a great company with great products otherwise. But this product misses the mark on almost every point.

I didn't like having to reorder just so I could get the correct model that I wanted, other than that, the items worked great.

I had my doubts at first. Was a little difficult to integrate with alexa. Had do install twice but, after the 2nd time it started working properly. I love it.

Doesn’t really work well with the google assistant family. I have 3 home minis and a nest hub. The plug and related switches work ok from the switchmate app but when you try voice commands it says it can’t reach the switches or plug sometimes it still works. When you use the home app it is hit or miss on if it will work, often though it shows the device as offline. UPDATE: Now they will not work with my Google Home. 5 Days ago they mysteriously unlinked themselves. All 5 devices simultaneously showed as unlinked from account at 7:27AM. I tried to relink them but the google home app will not pull up the page to input the pairing code. It puts a status bar at the bottom of the app saying Account Linked successfully, yet the devices will not show up! I have tried everything including deleting my house from google and rebuilding the entire setup. I would not recommend this product to anyone!

This works great and is super easy to install. Works well with Alexa, although there is a bit of a delay.... and about once a month I have to unplug and replug the base unit to reset connection to Wi-Fi... not a big deal. I have not used timer feature so did not review that. Love being able to ask Alexa to turn on the fireplace!

Works great with Alexa and super easy to setup and program. Highly recommend and will purchase more in the near future.

I wanted to be able to remotely work some of my lights and liked the idea of sockets that can be controlled wirelessly. I have a much older set of these that worked well, and wanted more. The behavior of the new light switches was erratic - blue tooth and wireless didn't always work, even with new batteries and set up. So if they're on a switch, they're just used as a manual switch. One of the switches in the box never worked either way. The wireless sockets NEVER worked except as a regular socket and night light. No matter where I placed it, set it up, anything - it never recognized any wireless source, so never worked. I would not recommend this product. It is unreliable.

Hi, my first power I updated the firmware and, like many others, could not connect to wi fi. The 2nd one I skipped updating and connected first. Imagine my delight and surprise when it worked and the wi fi networks came into view! I could then update the firmware and it works perfectly. I wish the company would understand this and tell people to do this. And I don't know if there is any way you can reset to factory settings but that might be another thing to ask the company. So my 2 requirements were: a switch to work with alexa + no wiring. So this is exactly what I needed. The price to pay is you need to buy this version with the power outlet to get the linking to alexa options. And that each time you will add a new rocker or toggle, you will need to unlink and relink alexa and the switchmate skill. Which, if that's what I have to do, it's a no brainer for me. Thank you switchmate!!!! And swanky packaging BTW!
