In my view, this is the de facto standard in Business Analysis. The book begins with setting out some of the challenges that modern Business Analysts face (and have previously faced), a model to determine the maturity of an organisation (and how far along they are where business analysis is concerned) before detailing tools and techniques that every business analyst ought to have in their trust toolkit. It's a great book, easy to read, and a must buy. After having read it, I decided to do a small 5 minute intro to business analysis in a youtube video. I used this book to prepare for my interviews and assist me in creating a presentation. I got the job and still enjoy reading this easily digestable and relatable book to help further my knowledge. I found having a working knowledge of the software product lifecycle sufficient to benefit from this book. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent reference book *by A***M on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 July 2012* I'm a BA but never had any formal BA training - or so I thought. Seems my undergrad business degree covered almost everything that a BA should know (according to this book) so I see it as a condensed version of a degree that contains formal methods a BA could/should be using.I see the BCS has rebranded and trying to push diplomas and exams in this...which is fine but unnecessary if you have done a half decent business degree. I've yet to see a job advertised asking for a BA qualification from ISEB.There are a number strands to being a BA...systems analyst, process analyst...mix of both and some people fall into one camp or the other.
