Frankly, I doubted him. It's a pair of socks! Shoes cause blisters, right? Socks are socks. Well, I wore these 4 nights in a row during an Appalachian Trail 2-week camping vacation. I hiked up and down (and up and down again and again!) for 4 days without an issue. I decided to change my socks to another brand just because... 4 days with the same pair of socks. By the time I hiked another 7 miles in the same mountainous terrain, I had huge blisters on both feet. One day! I thought his "no blisters" story was a bunch of hooey. I'm a believer now.Also, these socks lasted for 2 full weeks, every day, lots of rain and mud, more than 150 miles, and I can barely tell I wore them. I should also mention that, unlike most AT hikers, I did NOT wear a thin pair of liner socks. I just wore these alone. I've purchased several pairs of these for myself and as gifts. Both of my pairs wore through (toes, heel, sole) beginning within a few weeks, and at four months they look like what a pair of DT look like in five years. I'm not kidding. They look great though, and I must say they're really comfy while they last,and the fit is excellent. The problem seems to be the wool is too soft and woven in a way that allows it to just rub off the socks.
