I'm very pleased with how easy it was to install and its robustness, quality, and efficiency. The noise level from this fan is neglegable given its CFM flowrate. I measured power usage @120VAC as 0.81 Amps and 95 Watts. I needed for dust and paint-fume evacuation in my basement. I often spray paint small projects there and have been using a simple box fan in a window to keep fumes from wafting into the upstairs living areas, but it wasn't as effective as I would have liked. After installing this new unit, the amount of airflow is so high that even with another basement window open for airflow, the negative pressure generated by this exhaust fan is still sufficient to pull air from the upstais living areas, resulting in absolutely no odor from paint spraying, or any other activity in the basement entering the upstairs living areas. Problem solved. I could also see how this fan would be effective for cooling.

I mounted it on plywood and installed in an upstairs window for cross ventilation in my upstairs. It has helped keep my home cooler this summer and the thermostatic switch lets it be set so temperature increasing turns it on and then off at night.
