Works as advertised but I question it's quality. Works when new but after a month of continuous ruining, it won't start by powering up after cleaning. You have ti expose the propeller and give it several turns manually for it to start. Am I supposed to subscribe to auto delivery of one unit every month? Stupid and definitely poor quality of a pump that is supposed to run 24/7/365!

This is the good pump. It is for a ceramic fountain (petsafe?) that requires some power to the flow. If you have the other (plastic brand) cat fountain with the cheap bad pump and power supply, you will need to take the adjustable front grill off of your old pump and fit it onto this one to get the right flow for that pump. This new pump doesn't have the flow adjustment knob on the front grill, but you can exchange them seamlessly, and the middle piece that has the other side of the flow control lip is the same on both pumps. This pump also has the easy tabs to assist with cleaning.

My original pump quit working, so I replaced it with this and it has lasted for years.As I was cleaning the cat hair out of it one night, I popped the front screen off the front of it and it exposed the little impeller, after cleaning the front of it, the impeller came out and I thought "oh snap!, it's broke!" to my surprise, it was not broken, but it did need to be cleaned off as well, is amazing how much crud and yuck can get built up in there. (I think this is why the last one quit working). So be gentle yet aggressive and get in there and clean that pump up about every 3 weeks, it will extend the life of the pump, and it will ensure your pet(s) have their awesome water dish to drink out of.Yes I get the "look" when I say my cats have a carbon filtered water dish, that has water circulated to keep it fresh for them. Why not? we spoil ourselves don't we?
