Doug Lowe, made me laugh the author said if he ever caught anyone reading this as a book, he would kick sand in there face quality. a Typical for dummies book
I like them, they read very easily. And you really start to get the basics, but only the very beginning of the basics!

Good book to refresh my knowledge of networking.
As a CIO I need to manage the people who manage my network. I don't need to know everything, but I need to know enough about what they suggest to make good decisions. This book is a good review for someone like me who has been out of school for years and needs to catch up on the latest options in networking. It is also a good primer before reading more specialized books. It helped me get a grasp on things before I started studying the differences between VMWare and Hyper-V.

Doug Lowe does a great job dealing with a very dry subject
It's very informative, but not the kind of book you read cover to cover. Use the index when you have a question, and you're taken to a brief, concise explanation with a bit of humor thrown in. Doug Lowe does a great job dealing with a very dry subject.
