This could use a bit more R&D. As someone elsewhere pointed out, the chute is too low to the table. A more important issue is that the rolled oat tends to break apart. The rollers have an aggressive texture that is needed to grab the oat groat and draw it into the press. The rough surfaces end up weakening the flattened oat which tends to crumble. I use the rolled oats "raw" in my homemade muesli cereal. I've tried adjusting the rollers but they loose grip on the groats if set too wide. I don't see much, if any, difference in the oat thickness regardless.The press is well built but ought to come with a lid so grains/seeds can be left in the hopper without worry of their getting dusty or otherwise contaminated. I made a lid in my woodshop but I doubt most have that luxury.EDIT: I changed my original review from 4 to 2 stars. While this is a well build device, it is TERRIBLE for rolling oats. The oats end up crumbling into dust. It's caused by the way the rollers impress the oat with a waffle pattern. I replaced this unit with a Marcato Marga Mulino Flaker which is made in Italy. It has adjustable rollers and produces a rolled oat that has good integrity and robustness. The Marcato is well built, turns very easily and smoothly and is much less money. Die Selbst gequetschten Flocken sehen etwas anders aus, als die gekauften aus der Tüte, nicht ganz so Glatt in der Oberfläche, eher etwas krümeliger. Allerdings, das Aroma der frisch gequetschten Flocken ist viel besser als das der Tütenware, allein dafür lohnt sich der kleine Aufwand.
